Hey all, this is all such a nightmare. There are so many people destitute, dead, sick, starving, and left with nothing. Regardless of why you might think this happened to these people, there are 10's of thousands of people who have had everything totally wiped off the map.
There is so much disorganization. There was a small riot at a large Target near the Astrodome because people were allowed to just wonder around once they were dropped at the Dome.
On a positive note, KTBZ 94.5 The Buzz, a local rock station, started taking cash donations to play any song on the air, they were playing country, rap, christian, etc. and they had raised $385,000 after a little over 48 hours, pretty awesome.
People are also opening their apartments and homes to help people.
Mindia is seriously the greatest troll that has ever lived.

The refugees in the Astrodome have been given free passes to go to Six flags Astroworld (Amusement park). I guess it's probably an attempt to give them something to do to occupy their time. Perhaps they can lounge about in the wave pool end relive the Katrina experience... :dunno:

Oh yeah, something another Houston Radio station 96.5 is doind is selling a donut on eBay

"Liberals believe government should take people's earnings to give to poor people. Conservatives disagree. They think government should confiscate people's earnings and give them to farmers and insolvent banks. The compelling issue to both conservatives and liberals is not whether it is legitimate for government to confiscate one's property to give to another, the debate is over the disposition of the pillage."

We have the FW convention center and Reunion arena full of refugees. Makes for bad traffic when they bring new shipments of people in.

They're not seeking refuge from a natural or otherwise caused disaster? It's not a dirty word.

    *sigh*

    Main Entry: 1ref·uge
    Pronunciation: 're-(")fyüj also -(")fyüzh
    Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French, from Latin refugium, from refugere to escape, from re- + fugere to flee -- more at FUGITIVE
1 : shelter or protection from danger or distress
2 : a place that provides shelter or protection
3 : something to which one has recourse in difficulty

    Main Entry: ref·u·gee
    Pronunciation: "re-fyu-'jE, 're-fyu-"
    Function: noun
Etymology: French réfugié, past participle of (se) réfugier to take refuge, from Latin refugium
: one that flees; especially : a person who flees to a foreign country or power to escape danger or persecution

(please take note of the word "especially" - it does not mean "soley," "strictly," or "only.")

Refugee is a perfectly legitimate word to describe the people seeking shelter, protection, and help.

Now, can we please not get caught up in retarded word games and technicalities?

Er, Phlegm? Did you not read the last line of my post? In case you misunderstood, that was me expressing my disdain over the fact that semantics got brought up in the first place.

I can't see how that could possibly be construed as "sarcasm," however, I will take you at your word and answer the previous question:
