WoW on linux

Postby Gidan » Sun Sep 25, 2005 12:28 am

For those who might be ineterested, after a fair amout of time spent I have been able to get WoW running on linux just as well if not slightly beter then it does in windows.

Took me a few hours of screwing with my box, but after upgrading to the 2.6.13 kernel, updating my NVidia drivers to the most recent version and upgrading cedega to the newest version I was finally able to get it going.

I have not yet tested this on either Fedora or SuSE, though they should be able to run it almost as well though they do have a slighly larger memory overhead unless you really tweak the system.

More or less, the good news for those who want to try linux but not being able to play WoW was hodling you back, it is possible and from my most recent experice, it plays very well if setup correctly.
For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.
