I dunno, Taxx. Given the changes, would be worth it to have at least 1 moonkin and maybe 1 leader of the pack along on raids. Stick the Moonkin guy with 4 mages/warlocks, and the Pack guy with 4 rogues and just assign backup healers to watch the groups' healths on CT-Raidassist. Could really pump overall raid DPS by a fair bit, I'd think, if a good chunk of the DPS classes are getting their crit rate raised significantly.

Just another example of why high end raiding in these games sucks.
Random Druid - "Cool look at all the different choices we have"
High end raid leader - "If you want to join us, this is exactly the setup you are required to have, no excuses"
Random Druid - "But this could be useful"
High end raid leader - "If you want to raid, this is your only option, change or leave"
There is no room for playing yoru character how you might want to play it. If you are from X class you have to play it exactly this way or your nto needed. Druids are a perfect example, have innervate or go someplace else.

For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.
druids in my guild testing the new changes with a mix of cenarion and AP/crit/agi gear on test reported hitting for 2k+ crits with ravage and 1900+ crit ferocious bites, thats over 220 DPS on moderate AC mobs (level 58-60 elites in BRM/LBRS, afaik)
i can see some raiding guilds asking 1 of their druids to go feral, get leader of the pack...group 1 druid 4 rogues? mana isn't running that tight for alliance on raids that they can't afford to lose 1 druid innervating, i can't speak for horde
also consider that the new heart of the wild talent is extremely good...even if youre not using your feral forms on raids, 20% more int is nothing to scoff at. The only thing i think kind of sucks is swiftshifting got nerfed to 30% max savings on shapeshifting vs. 60% before if you were quick about it, which is going to hurt a lot in duels with priests, paladins, etc where its often a contest of who runs out of mana first.
maybe in 1.8 i'll reactivate my account and tool around on my 36 druid some more, lois, maybe i will

Druids really really needed a lot of help, though. I played one to 60 in beta, and they were SO bad, I refused to do it on release. Since release, they keep giving the class more and more upgrades, but they won't really be on par with other classes til this talent revamp. If druids had that talent set on release, with all the upgrades they've gotten since then, I might've played one, but gah, not like they started out.

In their defense, with such a ubiquitous MMO they really need to try and please the largest base they can.
WOW isn't a game. It is a monstrous Vivendi cash cow churning in dollars. I doubt it cost 1/2 of what EQ2 did and its owning the market pretty handily.
I can see them doing what they can to keep their market share.

I'm not disagreeing with it being a fantastic business model for them
It just really reminds me of the rapid change that happened after the original EQ team left
bunch of sweeping changes that looked awesome on the surface, but in the end really eroded the player base and left a much less meaningful experience in gameplay
everyone loved to bitch about the boats in EQ, and how long it took to get around, but now looking back on it, people realize that you spent more time building community by chatting cause you had downtime to kill
I really hate the instancing in WoW. it just irritates the shit out of me
On one hand, it's really nice that ALL the content is there waiting for you, but at the same time, I could play final fantasy9 and have the same thing =\

I fully agree. It's not as if the class is getting handed free upgrades either. Druids had an entirely useless talent line. If they want to make use of it, they'll have to sacrifice some of the decent talents they alread had. The Feral tree desperately needed to be redone. It's possible they've overdone it, but we'll have to wait and see on that.
