We were using an out of date version of phpBB and they simply used cracks that are completely available to the public. They never compromised the database.

Your passwords are not known, as only the PHP portion of the bulletin board was exposed.

Now that we're on 2.0.17 things should be smoother, hopefully.

The PHP portion is what you see, its what controles the actual display. The database that stores all the data they dont have direct access to. All they can do is edit info in teh database through the PHP. They can not pull passwords (which are encrypted anyway) from the database.

The admins will get it cleared up, they just need time. It is not a fast process to clean the system of whats been done.

all this time I thought it meant Pretty Hawt Pussy... but instead I come to find out it's mind altering drugs... Either choice is acceptable.
