You know I've read that sentence several times trying to figure out what you are asking, simply because what you said makes no sense in the context of my earlier statement. Since I did not say you were discussing the act of being immature, the question doesn't make any sense, and hence why I found it necessary to try and decipher what it is you were trying to ask.

He was a ranger who, despite what the general populus may prescribe to, had a lot of talent. The only thing he really lacked was gear... and severely at that. He died a lot. He whined a lot. Uhh, talent played a pretty large role in EverQuest. You had people who paid attention and did what they needed to do... and you had the rest of the general population: slackers, dumbasses, and people who blamed their dumbfuck mistakes on "lag" and other miscellaneous bullshit.

Example: what's the point of having a DPS parser? To tell you which of your rogues/rangers/wizards are actually doing their job and which are slacking. Read: talent.

In any case, chances are you're going to send a different mage a tell for your modulation rod needs.

PS, I know Bram well. Him and I were in Decade together. He was an extraordinary druid considering he had subpar gear. He was proof that skill > equipment. I always admired him because of that.
