I loved Daggerfall when it first came out. I bought Morrowind on release day but only played a few hours that day, and for some reason wasn't enthusiastic
I was pretty much in DAOC/EQ mode and couldnt really relax and enjoy the game for what it was. It's tough to change gears from the social weird online mentality to an indepth, deep story game.
About 6 months later I went back and played it all the way through and really enjoyed it.
I'ts a fun, immersive single player game. It's definitely not an MMO replacement, though.
I'm guessing Oblivion will be the same.
