Home/Start page hot key.

Postby Gruns » Sat Oct 08, 2005 11:12 am

Hey all.
Anyone know the hotkey to change your default home/start page in IE? I've looked all over Google and it seems this feature may have been removed. I thought it was CTRL + H or something, but can't remember and can't find it. (No, CTRL+H doesn't work).
Thanks for any info!

To my knowlege there isn't one. There are programs you can install that allow you to set that up but in base IE, I do not believe it exists. Of course it takes 5 seconds to do it through the menu.

Because...

I can't do it "the normal way" because IE is highly disabled here at work. Many of the menu options are greyed out. It seems someone visited a umm site they shouldn't have, and the well, somethign got into the registry and now redirects the startup page to something undesireable.
I _KNOW_ there was a shortcut key to do this, but can't find any reference to it anymore. Ah well. Was hoping to do it the easy way before re-imagine the drive.
(Chances are if something altered the registry it would have reverted itself back to the bad page anyway.)
Later!

Even if you were able to change the homepage the malware would replace it.

Just make a shortcut to whatever page you want to go directly to, that should fix your issue.
