Yes, because the American League contenders are the equivalent of a barely-scraped-past-.500 team that made the post-season by playing in the worst division in baseball. I think the Cards do have a great shot at winning the Classic, but San Diego isn't a good litmus test for St. Louis.
Take a look at the Chi Bos game, look what may be in store for the NL. 1 game really is meaningless though. We will have a beter idea after this first round is over.
