Have you been to a Wegmans?
http://www.wegmans.com/

Whole Foods doesn't even compare. You can fit 5 whole foods stores in a Wegmans and the food and variety is way better. WTF is Stew Leonards??

We have the largest Whole Foods store in the nation, just opened in September... so my perspective on the store might be a bit skewed.

Just the atmosphere and the fact I can get nasi gori there makes me <3 it.

ohh looks good.. do they do a lot of prepared foods and ethnic foods too?
Ya.. whole foods is yum but got kinda old to me. I use to go all the time in Boston and also when I moved here to MD. Then I hit Wegmans when I was visiting the parents in NJ and it just ruled. I was happy when they opened one here in MD.
What is nasi gori?

I mispelled it, Nasi Goreng is the proper spelling.

It is rice, veggies, shrimp, and some spices usually...

http://recipes.epicurean.com/recipe/347 ... oreng.html

is a recipe that is close to what I usually make, but I tend to substitute in scallops rather than beef/pork. I also don't use soy sauce at all, that shit is vile.

You can remove what you don't like from the recipe with ease. It is a really simple dish.

ohh an what do you use instead of the shrimp paste.. since I don't like the taste of shrimp.. I bet that would drastically change the dish.

I never used shrimp paste when making it homemade myself.

Chicken would be fine.
