So I took my son to a pet store....
and they've got boxes of puppies, kittens, bunnies, hamsters, guinea pigs, etc etc etc
and then a big fucking box of birds (budgies I think, but wtf do i know, i hate birds)
anyways, there's no lid or anything, and they encourage you to play with the animals
the birds had thier wings clipped, and there must have been like 50 of them
most were green, some were yellow, and there was this 1 blue one there
While I was trying to figure out how the hell you're sposed to play with a bird, I saw a bunch of little plastic rings all chained together lying in the corner
So i picked it up, and kinda waved it at a bird, expecting it to either:
A flinch and run away
B sit there stupidly and get smacked in the face with a chain of plastic rings (repeatedly)
anyways, this little blue bird grabs onto the rings with it's beak, and lets go of the thing it was sitting on
I've now got a bird on a chain, kinda like pulling a fish out of the water with a fishing rod
So i start swining this thing around a bit, and it just keeps hanging on
I'm thinking to myself "hey this is cool, i wonder what happens if I kinda move it thru the other birds?"
(I had this vision of like all 50 birds attached to this chain and swinging it around over my head or something....)
anyways
I start to get this bird near another one, and the fucker starts attacking the other bird!
Cool, I had an attack budgie!
It would jump off the chain (and I swear to god I'm not making this up) and it would stand on top of the other bird, and start biting it in the back, or clawing it!
every time i moved the chain thing away, the damn thing would hop back on, and i could move the chain to make it attack another bird!
it was awesome
then some highschool girl who worked there came over and made me stop playing with the birds =\
but man, that was the coolest thing I've ever seen

they're also natural alarm clocks
it's actually kinda funny
The rooster walks around the yard (not my yard, a generic farm yard) and all the hens will just follow him around
when you send the dog out to round up the chickens, the rooster will sometimes pretend like he's going to resist, then wise up and head for the coop, pretending like he meant to go there all along
everytime I see the rooster do that, I think of certain NT posters~

My mom has had a male cockatiel for about 5-6 years now. For the last week or so he got really mean and territorial, fluffing up like a turkey and hissing at folks. Then, a few nights ago "he" laid an egg, then another and another and is now sitting on the damn things comepletely forgetting there needs to be another party in the equation.
All this time we thought it was a male.

what makes one form of animal cruelty better than another? i wouldnt care if my neighbor was fighting them fish you get at the supermarket with the crazy fins, im calling the police
yeah im sure the police will send out the SWAT team for that one
the value people place upon the lives of animals is almost completely arbitrary.
entirely not the point you fools. fighting animals is highly illegal, and almost always leads to other forms of crime. gambling, drug sales, etc...
like in the dipshit rednecks case, his neighbor goes from cock fighting to dog fighting. theres no difference, its animal cruelty.
im hardly one for animal rights, i eat meat, i even hunt. fighting animals is disgusting, no matter the animal.
