Where will Philip Rivers be playing next year

Where will Philip Rivers be playing next year

I have a hard time imagining that the Chargers will not sign Brees long term, and try to trade Rivers for a high draft pick (or some other player that fills a need (safety maybe)

They could afford to keep him. The Chargers have so much money to spend it isn't even funny, but trading him or Brees is a possibility...

He'll be playing in Washington!

Just a random shot in the dark. :)

I think the Chargers is more likely to keep Rivers than Brees. He is under contract while Brees will be a free agent.

That is nonsense. Brees is proven. Miami needs a QB.

Rivers is not proven, and is a backup QB.

Anyways, I think this won't be answered until the end of the year. If the Chargers make it deep in the post season, Rivers will be traded, most likely to an NFC team in need of a QB. If they struggle and Brees doesn't impress, and more importantly, if Brees doesn't negotiate in the Chargers terms then he'll be let go.

San Diego is notoriously cheap and has a habit of pissing off player agents.

My gut feeling says Rivers will be in San Diego next year, and Brees won't.

I think it'd be retarded to trade away a guy who's proven that he CAN be your franchise QB for a guy who MIGHT be able to be a franchise QB

not to mention the chemistry between Gates and Brees and Tomlinson

Rivers I think will be a pretty ok QB (I know the steelers really wanted Rivers over Roethlisburger), but I think he'd be better off moving to a place desperate for a QB (Miami, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Baltimore, etc)
