Mebudda was one of the best powergamers on the Nameless I can't belive some of you guys trash him, you need to check your own tudes maybe. Yeah he was a freak and an asshole sometimes but he ran a tight crew. And he did it as an outcast most of the time.

We used to plow through LDoNs, friggin Anney would pull entire rooms and we'd beat em all down barely surviving by the skin of our teeth, med up and do it again...damn awsome gaming. And BoT shit we'd own south top all day sometimes with Budda chain pulling, six hours and more sometimes...the guy was a maniac. If an area was uncamped I'd scout named and we'd move in take em out like commandos and never lose our camp.

I've grouped with alot of people over those EQ years, Draed was like that, so was Tigole and Polo...Mebudda may not have had the same diplomatic style, heh, but he had that same knack to inspire you to go balls to the wall in EQ.

I was wicked glad when he joined us in Euph with his chanter. And his chanter was no slouch either he worked hard on that char. Sadly though his commitment to the game fucked up his personal life. I spoke to him last a couple days before he dissapeared from the game, he was broken and disillousioned, like alot of folks that put in thier all to a game that gives nothing back. It's sad to see someone like that remebered harshly, sadder still that some of you with those opinions never really knew the man.

I didn't like him at first cause he jacked a named from one of my camps or something. Then I ended up in a group with him due to a mutual friend and we were cool from then on. Cracking out high risk LDoN's back when they were a real challenge for anyone not in a time level guild. Was an excellent power gamer, could really get shit done.

I gave him a lot of advice on that chanter of his too - never really grouped with him as the chanter though - you almost never need two of us. :p

So he was a no-life, no-job type that played 24x7 and somehow for neglecting any normal life activities like career, education, socializing with other human beings he should be made a saint?

I didn't know the guy, but I have heard of the type. They reap wtf they sow. I have no sympathy/kind words for someone that turns a game into an obsession like that all in the name of virtual accomplishments.

Well true and not true Ouchy. He was a small business owner like myself so he had time to play. I agree with you that making that kind of commitment to a fuckin video game is absurd. But I know alot of people, including myself that didn't think so at the time...so I guess I can relate in a sympathetic way...still it's no excuse.

and the band played on...

Mebudda was of middling skill, but was persistent

the thing he had going for him was huge play time, not being good at the game

Hey kizzy, thanks for correcting an obvious mistake, but shouldn't you be busy posting something about your psych class everywhere on the board? I'm considering the possibility that this "psych" class is a coverup for you seeing a shrink, and all of the people you "hear about" are actually your own mental problems :<?

Food for thought?

Maybe he was good at what he did, but he was a total ass to me sometimes. He'd piss me off by stealing camps I was at, etc but then the next week he'd be begging me to come to Ldon or flagging runs. It was like dealing with multiple personalities.

he was a horrible, horrible player - anyone that thinks he is/was skilled, are completely clueless and suck too much themselves to comment the skills of others.

He tried once to campsteal from me. Then complained when I just sat back and let 6 mobs beat him to death. Then I continued xp'ing.
