I had high hopes for it. I loved DS and the expansion but DS2 just looked like more of the same. If they had moved it in to a first person view for the sequel, it would have been awesome.

me too. it has more elements from diablo 2 and even some things from everquest i noticed. i just play this insted of diablo because it's new, it looks beautiful, and it's got a billion sidequests now. i just really like this kind of game though, so i dunno, i guess i'm biased
I liked the first one at first, but it got very old, very quickly, and I got pretty bored of it after a while. I haven't tried this one, cause as someone else said, i tjust looked to be more of the same.
I want Baldur's Gate 3 or something, dammit. Too bad Black Isle isn't around any more.
I started playing Morrowind this week and am really enjoying it. That is, I liked it after I ditched the pre-built healer and went with a self-designed fighting class.
The thing I found with DS is, it was very boring if you set it on the normal difficulty and blew through it carelessly. If you cranked the difficulty up to max and took it slow, it was really a well thoughtout, balanced and fun game. Playing with a group of friends was very similar to a D&D campaign. Tons of fun and teamwork involved.

Yep, DS 1 & 2 single player is a snooze fest. Playing multi with 3 or 4 people with it cranked up is a blast.

I'd say "well, it's only Beta.. they'll never release it with such problems", but we all remember WoW's release! These guys do seem more disciplined however.
