Hey Liberals... guess what? You live in a country that is 84% "Christian" - don't like it? Pack up and move.

Now, let me make something clear. I don't attend church, nor I "talk" church wilst standing 'round the water cooler at work. But, I will say this. I am SICK and TIRED of you morons trying to remove any and every aspect of the christian faith from our culture. This isn't the Middle East... This isn't Isreal... This isn't India... This IS a country where Christianity (not Islam, not Judism, not Hinduism, or any other religion) is the MAJOR religion. Shut the fuck up already. Stop whining about being "offended," stop bitching about pictures of Santa being hung on store fronts, stop screaming about people saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays." Just, please for the love of God, SHUT THE FUCK UP already.

Hey this IS America... so if you want to practive Voodoo - by all means - get yourself a few chickens and some monkey bones and go for it. You want to be a Hindu? Do it - no one really cares. Just don't start crying like a whiny little bitch when someone in a predominately CHRISTIAN country wants to mention the word God in a public school. You don't like it? Pack your shit and go back to the third world shithole you came from and hope and pray to your pegan god that some day one of our bombs doesn't plow through your hut when we invade your ass.

Fuck catering to the whims and needs of the minority. It's no different than going overseas and refusing to learn the language of that country then throwing a fit because the casher at McDonalds doesn't understand your order.

IF the majority of this country is christian and said majority wants to teach creationism / ID along side evolution... good. Majority rules. Don't like - leave.

There's nothing wrong with embracing and celebrating diversity. There's nothing wrong with accepting other faiths and religions. But, the majority IS the majority. If you're a muslim in a predominately christian country don't expect that country to stop practicing or discussing it's major faith becuase you might get your feelings hurt.

Do you really think the Middle East would go out of it's way to shut down all muslim holidays because a few christians moved in? Fuck no they wouldn't - but you liberals seem to forget that.

If you're an atheist and attending a public school in a country where 84% of the population believes in God... tough shit. Unless someone is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to participate - shut the fuck up and mind your own business. You are entitled to believe what YOU want. But, you have NO right to force your beliefs on anyone else. That goes for everyone. Christians have no more right to force their religion on atheists than atheists do in forcing the removal of anything christian from the public eye.

By the way, atheists, if you don't believe in God then why does a picture of Christ hanging on a school wall offend you? It should just be another piece of art that holds no meaning to you no? So, unless that picture "speaks" to you and or tries to force you to attend church, why do you give a fuck? I mean besides just being a bunch of whiny attention whores, why do you care?

Exactly Diekan

by your standards you should now stfu about linux cause you're the minority?

but seriously tho

IF the majority of this country is christain and said majority wants to teach creationism / ID along side evolution... good. Majority rules. Don't like - leave.

here's the difference

ID IS NOT FUCKING SCIENCE

if you want to teach creationism in religion class, go for it
that's where it belongs

but it's not a fucking scientific theory, therefore it doesn't belong in fucking science class

STFU you Liberal pinko slut.

Christians are the majority so they can do whatever they want, even if it directly interferes with the constitution.

No... talking ABOUT Linux and trying to FORCE everone else to use it are two different things. I surely hope you can see that.

I am in the minority when it comes to Linux. But, you don't see me using the courts for my platform to try and force the majority to stop using Windows because Bill Gate's hair "offends" me.

The majority of this country uses Windows and thus most applicationsa are designed for use with Windows... that's tough shit for me.

way to miss the point of my whole post tho

Forcing someone to be taught a RELGION/FAITH as fact alongside science is what's wrong

if you want to teach it as a religious course, go for it

but it's not science, so keep it out of the science class

I have zero issue with a teacher in a religous class saying that evolution is just 1 theory, and that ID/Creationism is another that they favour

but to FORCE someone to learn about a faith in science class is wrong

No brainiack.... learn to read.

I didn't say Christians have the right to do whatever they wanted because they're the majority. If you read, and not skimmed, what I said - I said that they have NO right to FORCE their religion on you. But, if they want to hang a picture of Jesus up on a school wall and you don't like it - tough shit.

Saying "under God" in the pledge, having "In God We Trust" on the dollar, having a picture of Jesus up on a wall, saying "Merry Christmas," IS NOT forcing religion on you. If you don't like saying "Merry Christmas" then don't. No one is making you - but fuck you if you think you're going to DENY me the right to do so if I choose.

If you're antheist - fine - I don't give a shit - I'm not exactly a religious person myself. But, I'm not going to whine like a little bitch who got called a name on the play ground because the people next door put a nativity scene on their lawn.

I'm NOT saying forcing science teachers to teach creationism / ID is the thing to do. What I AM saying is that if a school wants to teach creationism that's fine with me. But, you can't mention the word "God" or "Jesus" in a school without someone getting their poor little feelings hurt. Creationism IS a part of the American society. Forcing it as a subject in a science class - ok - no - not a good idea per say. Completely banning it from all public schools because Nanu from Nirobia might be offended - fuck Nanu. When his religion becomes the majority then fine - until then he can suck it up and not take the class.

No I'm not in agreement with most of the posters in this thread, completely.

While we may agree that forcing religion into a science class isn't valid. I DO believe that having aspects of the christian fiath IN public schools is fine. Most of the posters here want God completely removed from any and everything public.

ID has nothing to do with religion at all actually, but it doesn't belong in science class, it belongs in philosophy class.

Yup.

Just like biased political slants do not belong in a history class, but we get them anyways.

ID has nothing to do with religion, but it also isn't naturalistic science as I've repeated over and over. Too bad some want to beat a dead horse, and could care less about discussions, in schools or message boards, and haven't comprehended any of my posts on the subject.

Prove to me what religion ID is for. Last I checked there were Athiests, Christians, Muslims, and agnostics who thought it was correct and not religious. That seems pretty non denominational and non religious to me.

However most aren't interested in discussions, just straw men arguments equating ID to Creationism, or looking at the Dover retards who tried to illegaly push religion into the class which can and was overturned.

Post your own thoughts, Tikker. If you want to demand anything from me, sign a contract and send me a big, fat check, or else you get what I want to post.

As far as what Diekan is saying goes... simply put, EVERYONE in a community pays for public schools. Until that situation changes, schools have no right to be teaching non-factual classes or having religion based policies/events that cater to one group's personal beliefs.

Furthermore... I just can't understand WHY public schools need to have any religious presence. It's not like that sort of thing is in scarce supply. There are Churches, Private schools, sunday-school, bible study classes, bible retreats, ect. People can just go there without the messyness of involving government in religion.

If students want to pray in school, pass out flyers or start clubs about their stupid religion, wear religious dress, bring bibles in, ect, that's fine and dandy (assuming they don't disrupt/harass other students). But as soon as the school itself does something religious-oriented, then it becomes a problem.

Diekan, the reason that that doesn't fly is that since the beginning, the US system of government has guarded against what John Stuart Mill in 1859, and Tocqueville in about 1815 referred to as "The Tyranny of the Majority". Just because the largest group in the country wants something, doesn't make it fair or right, and it certainly doesn't mean that they get to automatically impose their wants/beliefs on other people. Look at the South in the late 50s. By far a majority of voters approved of the Jim Crowe laws. That was the will of the majority. By your logic, those laws never should have been changed.

Intelligent Design is concept in which Aliens came from outer space and created the human race. Creation from a higher intelligent species.

Creationism is when some big shot with super power created the human race. Under this theory, the human race basically resulted from incestuous relationships through the ages.

This is why we should not have public schools. Under a private system, people would simply send their kids to whomever teaches according to their beliefs.
