Malware/Spyware

Postby Rzail » Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:52 am

Surfing through midget porn, I contracted this crap. I have tried AdAware, Malware Sweeper, and Microsoft Antispyware. My homepage is http://www.sportsline.com but regardless what I do, it redirects me to http://www.systemwarning.com which I think has something to do with SpyAxe.com which is the malware. I went to the registry and deleted the stuff that showed up on what AdAware was showing as my infected crap. I am out of ideas (pc illiterate!) Any suggestions? Thanks!

Run everything again, but run it from safe mode. You most likely have something that is "termination resistent" meaning, while it is running it can't be killed because it loads itself on program close, but it also can't be deleted while it's running.

First of all, thanks for the replies! :) To run it in safe mode, I would press F8 during bootup, correct? Thanks in advance!

Also-check around the net-they might have special removal instructions on the well-known sites.

Update...my homepage is gtg, but I am still having problems. In the lower right hand corner of my pc (where the programs that are running are displayed), I am still getting the pop-up box where it is saying my computer is infected. Happens all the time on boot-up. Thanks!

Try putting -exactly- what the pop-up says in quotes and googling it. Chances are someone else out there has been hit by this and has identified it. Then you can begin the hunt for the perfect removal.
