So has anyone else purchased or found a steal on ebay? I bought a premium set off ebay for cheaper than it would of cost me retail. So far so good. (keeps fingers crossed). Only game I have atm is CoD2 and it looks amazing in HD. Name is xKALECx on xbox-live.
Let me know if anyone else has one and recommends other games etc...

I'll post a link once I get home. This guy actually bought several on ebay trying to turn the sales for christmas and make a profit. Trouble was, he put no Buy Out and no Reserve. He got owned on 4 auctions. I have watched several go for under retail due to this. Now if they all delivered or backed out is another thing.
I didn't save too much. Payed 405.00 for the premium, which would of cost me 430-440.00 with tax here. Plus I bought it from a local ebayer, so I met him in person saving me shipping charges.

It's because of these Willy Wonka style brats that HAVE TO HAVE IT NOW!
I'm going to teach my kids to kick their asses.
Yea Diekan, i've seen a couple videos of how easy it is to scratch a disc too. When it's on it's side playing (like a ps2 usually plays), if it's on and you turn it flat, you can hear the cd scratch like crazy rendering it unplayable. Also, supposedly they're freezing up a ton and crashing etc etc, it's been in the news. Microsoft rushing that release made them unpopular and a lot of people are going to wait for the ps3, including myself. Shit even the creators of the ps3 Metal Gear Solid had to prove infront of a court that their game wasn't made from live footage and then redone in animation. I'm looking forward to that, Fuck the 360. Go play it at your local gamestop or EB for hours.
I got one. So far no problems, I think alot of the reports are being blown out of proportion due to the entire free world hating M$. There have been rumors that Sony is using viral marketing to plant alot of the defective rumors, who knows. So far the games are only slightly above average but the way the entire system is integrated if awsome. My gamertag is BigMunch look me up if you wana play some PD0, COD2, or PGR3.

1. I have an xbox 360 and I always play it vertically. It isnt scartching them at all. All my games are in perfect condition. It is probably just some of those that are malfunctioning not to mention that if you remember ps2 had a crazy malfunction count when it first launched also.
2.
There are three critical performance aspects of a console:
• Central Processing Unit (CPU) performance.
o The Xbox 360 CPU architecture has three times the general purpose processing power of the Cell.
• Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) performance
o The Xbox 360 GPU design is more flexible and it has more processing power than the PS3 GPU.
• Memory System Bandwidth
o The memory system bandwidth in Xbox 360 exceeds the PS3’s by five times.
The Xbox 360’s CPU has more general purpose processing power because it has three general purpose cores, and Cell has just one.
Sony's cell’s claimed advantage is on streaming floating point work which is done on its seven DSP processors.
The Xbox 360 GPU has more processing power than the PS3’s. In addition, its innovated features contribute to overall rendering performance.
Xbox 360 has 278.4 GB/s of memory system bandwidth. The PS3 has less than one-fifth of Xbox 360’s (48 GB/s) of total memory system bandwidth.
The Xbox 360 processor was designed to give game developers the power that they actually need, in an easy to use form. The Cell processor has impressive streaming floating-point power that is of limited use for games.
CONCLUSION
When you break down the numbers, Xbox 360 has provably more performance than PS3. Keep in mind that Sony has a track record of over promising and under delivering on technical performance. The truth is that both systems pack a lot of power for high definition games and entertainment.
However, hardware performance, while important, is only a third of the puzzle. Xbox 360 is a fusion of hardware, software and services. Without the software and services to power it, even the most powerful hardware becomes inconsequential. Xbox 360 games—by leveraging cutting-edge hardware, software, and services—will outperform the PlayStation 3.
Anyway point is that Xbox 360 performance is better.... so stop saying that ps3 is more powerful or something cause it isnt close. Oh and everyone is saying that xbox 360 graphics arent nearly as good as they said they would be...... yeah because this console just came out..... wait till this fall or summer and then tell me again. Oh and compare Gears of War or Oblivion two xbox 360 exclusives to the ps3 MGS4 it EASILY compares graphics wise.
Oh and just like halo 2 broke all past game records. When halo 3 comes out it will belittle any ps3 game including mgs4.
Not to mention that PS3 will use blu-ray disc's so that people wont be able to copy them.... when you use blu-ray disc's it will register on your console and you will not be able to play it on any other system. People are saying that if they do use blu-ray disc's that they will be able to find some way for them to make it uncopiable but still have other people use it. But im pretty sure they will find a way to get around this if they dont have a registered code on the game like they intend to do. So game sells will be incredibly low especially since the game will not be able to be rented or borrowed from a friend. The blu-ray disc's do have an incredible amount of memory but that is the price you pay for having to register them on your console.
P.S. Oh MS makes 37x the annual income of sony so they have money to throw out for marketing like nothing.

Anyways, we'll see, but more competition is better for the industry. What matters are the games, and there isn't a single game that makes me want a Xbox 360.
Because sony released the specs........ a long time ago... they could change them but thats what they are as of now.
I agree that their arent to many games right now except DOA 4...... anyway except that and quake 4 their isnt to many great games right now I agree. But some highly anticipated coming exclusives are....
1. Halo 3
2. Elder scrolls oblivion
3. Saints Row
4. Mass Effect
5. Test Drive unlimtied

That's still solely upcoming games. Today there is absolutely no reason to buy a 360 for me.
In regards to specs, The PS2 crushed the Xbox in games and quality, IMO, even though the Xbox was technically superior. I personally don't care if it specs a bit faster, since I have seen amazing PS3 screenies, but I'll take a wait and see approach to both. Propaganda is worthless.
My beef with the 360 is they want you to pay to play online. It's the same bullshit Microsoft tried to pull with The Zone in the 90s, and it completely bombed. Online play should be free, unless it's an MMO. I refuse to pay a subscription service for stuff I get for free on the Internet, and that's what Xbox Live is, in my opinion.
I don't believe the PS3 will cost anything to game online, so it gets the nod for me, since I can play all its games online without paying MS additional fees, unless it's a complete piece of crap. If they do charge for online play, I won't touch it either.
The only game I remotely am interested in for the 360 is Oblivion and my PC will destroy any Xbox 360 in performance so I'll just stick to it.

1.Yeah PS2 did crush the xbox 360 in games and quality but it also came out quite a bit earlier then the xbox came out so of course everyone rushed to get the new next gen console especially since they had already tried the playstation. The last generation xbox was the first of it's kind and the xbox 360 has come out and they have been selling like crazy. Sure their are malfunctions but hell did ps2 not have a lot also? I think this gen will be much much closer in sales.
2. Oh and I have no problem paying like money to play x-box live it is easily worth it. I will give major kudos to MS for making x-box live very very user friendly. PS2 had a crap online set-up and rumor is that ps3 games will have it own lobby for everygame and not actually be connected like xbox 360 is where you can send messages across your xbpx 360 while they are playing different games or chatting with them while they are playing different games.
3. Two factors that im gonna point for for xbox 360 is that it will perform a good 60 frames per second always, no need to load drivers or optimize settings it works everytime. On x-box live everyone is on a highspeed connection and stats are tracked for convenience. Visually wise an xbox 360 will have the same graphics, etc.. as a comp that costs $3000.
