Vince Young

I'm not sure how his skills will translate to the Pros, but he's amazing in college.
He did a great job of reading Pete Carrolls D all day, and has the size to play in the NFL. Obviously he won't be able to run like he did, but his mobility is definitely a plus. I can see him getting a shot in the NFL. Not ahead of Leinart, though, since he's more polished and suited for the NFL game.

I don't think he is Michael Vick, he definitely has the cutting ability, though the overall breakaway speed of Vick is still a little better, I think they pass about the same, I think if Young works on his passing next year at Texas and improves even more, he will be pretty unstoppable in the NFL
Mindia is seriously the greatest troll that has ever lived.
Young is 6'5'' 230lbs compared to Brooks and Vick who are 6' and around 210lbs. He can take a licking or two. His arm strength may not but the best, but neither is Matt Leinharts. Both of them are very accurate to say the least.
Young will have trouble in the NFL due to the fact that in the NFL you do not run from the gun every single snap.

I was thinking Randell Cuttingham. Vince should do well in the NFL. Leinhart will probably have a longer, more productive career, but Vince will have a huge impact on a team almost immediately. He could go as high as 3 if Tennessee wants a QB to replace McNair that isn't Billy Volek. I figure the Saints will draft Leinhart. Of course we are only making wild guesses until after the Senior Bowl, the Combine, and some private workouts.

Young is not a senior so he has to declare if he wants to be in the draft.
Some of you people are drunk or stupid. Young had the highest passer rating in the nation. The NATION. This includes old Matt Leinhart. Not only did he have the highest passer rating, he did it with a inferior supporting cast.
You don't even have to bring his legs into the equation. Young is a better pure quarterback than Leinhart.
You want to talk about intangibles? How about two touchdown drives in under 7 minutes. How about one touchdown drive with 2:09 left, in the biggest game of his life. The man has got "it". I'd take him over Leinhart if I was a pro-team, because he has the stuff that Montana and Brady are made of. 467 yards total offense in the most hyped up national championship of all-time? 75% completion percentage?
How about we look at the last two rose bowls. 839 total yards. 8 touchdowns. 70% completion percentage.
Give the man some credit.

if NOLA gets vince young, they're my new favorite team
Were gonna need all the support we can get to keep us in New Orleans. League smacked Benson upside his head for next year, but who knows a couple years from now what might go down.
Id love to have Young, Im not gonna cry if its Leinert though. But Young. Some of the best football I ever watched was Brook's first year as a starter, runner/passer/sack avoider, some incredible plays. Would love to see that stuff again.

It's Randall Cunningham, but you're close enough. I agree, this is exactly who Young reminds me of. I think Young is an improvement over Randall, though, but I do remember R.C. making some seriously mind-blowing plays back in the day.

you're kidding me right?
the only thing they have in common is that they're black QB's who can run
Randall had a CANNON of an arm, but was really inconsistent in his defensive reads
Young seems to have a limp wing of an arm, but makes up for it with good decision making in where he puts the ball
I think young will get eaten alive in the NFL because of his lack of arm strength
That is why I think he should stay in for his senior season and work specifically on his mechanics.... VY throws from his side, and pretty sure you can't throw that low in the NFL..... that is also why he should stay within a 20 yard range.....
along with the simple fact that passer rating in NCAA has absolutely NOTHING to do with passer rating in the NFL..... Anyone seen Ol' GIne Torretta these days???????
