Then say fuck it. get some car that looks like ass but runs fine. even if the fucker only lasts a year and costs you 500 bucks your still ahead

liquidstayce wrote:2)I want the dealer to take the original car off my hands that is sitting in his service shop so I don't need to tow it somewhere else. Again, there is also a time restraint here.

tow back to the hood and set the fucker on fire. Get tikkers neighbors name. Shit if you want drive the fucker back home...worse case the thing dies completely on the way home.

liquidstayce wrote:3) I need to buy this car today and I need it delivered to me this afternoon or at the latest tomorrow. Otherwise I am looking and having to go get a rental and that is more wasted money. Bad enough I have to blow 30 bucks on another cab to get to the dealer today. I'm sure they will give me a ride home though.

LS your fucking nuts if you do this. Have someone drive you to work get a damn autotrader and buy some early to late 90 rice burner to get you going. Save your money. New cars depreciate 2 to 5 k after driving the damn albatross off the showroom. As an investment it aint worth it.

Better yet goto a used car lot look at a 3000.00 car test drive it...if it runs good off the guy 2k cash. The bitch will most likely bite. All carry a Kelly Blue Book around with you. Every used car you look at and test drive check it against KBB if the blue book is off by over 600 dont buy the bitch.

Jesus christ you marry my wife?

Look do what I did to learn a stick buy 14.00 in quarters goto a bowling alley and look for a driving game with a stick(Hard Driving worked the best for me) blow the quarters on the game. 3 hours later you can drive a damn stick.

on a side note remember a autodealer that specializes in new and used cars also specializes in fucking their customers for every penny they can. You will get screwed buying used froma toyota dealership or anyone for that matter. Autotrader...or a buy here pay here lot works when trying to run them down from inital sticker cost. call around there a automatic trannys around everywhere.

I understand your desperate hun, but going this route is gonna end up screwing you worse. Take the advice of alot of people in here, this is a bad move on your part. They know your in a pinch for time so they are gonna play you with a higher rate.

Think of it this way. 72 months at 450.00=32400, on a car worth about 1k after all is said and done.

2000.00 on a car worth 2000.00 if it lasts say 2 years....

24months at 450.00=10080.00 for a total savings of 8080.00

and most likely the fucking car will still be worth approx 2k.

If you really feel the need to put 500.00 on something a month pay off the damn other car you are upside down on. then put 500.00 in the bank a month and sit on it. when it hits 5k buy another better car and sell the 2k one.

Did you try talking to your insurance company? If the engine can be considered "totalled" they may pay off your loan or pay to fix it...I'm not sure what kind of insurance you have. I would have to agree with Kahar though, you don't want to get yourself further in debt. Even if you have to just keep paying on the loan you owe for the toyota right now and just use the cash to get something that will last a few years it would be preferrable in my eyes then to get into even more debt for a period of 5+ years. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE BUYING A HOUSE SOON!

Stupid question perhaps but, is public transportation totally out of the question? Honestly I would just pay off your existing debt and start fresh with a nice used car later. The route Taxx suggested is a good idea too. A used Civic or Celica for the 500-1000 range for the time being.

you can find a decent car for 500 to 1k. as long as it has four wheels and a running board, starts and goes from point A to Point C without stopping at point B who the fuck cares?

As I told your hubby LS, I just dont want you making the same stupid mistakes I did. I stopped buying new cars as well as cars from actually new/used lots along time ago. At one time I thought yeah they must be better if I am buying from a Toyta/Ford/Chevy(etc etc.) dealership instead of buying from a buy here pay here lot. Wht I learned was

A) nope alot of times they are worse.

B) Used car salesman are assholes no matter where you buy from

C) If the Goddamn thing blows up 1 year after I bought it for 1k Im still off better then the 3000-6000 I would have made in car payments that year.

Wisdom does not come with age but what it does do is allow you to look back and see the mistakes you have made far after you can do anything about them.

Ok gang.. I was at the dealer all day so I didn't see your posts but I really do thank you for all the advice I got here. Tucker - You are awesome. I got the carfax and it was a huge help. Also pulled the kelly blue book values of my car an the ones I were looking at.

I did great!I bought the 2004 Hyundai XG350 L 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl )

I had my mom cosign so I ended up with a 9% interest rate. He took my car for 1000. Tried to get him to 2000 but no dice. I put 2k down. My payment is 380/mo for 60 months. He gave me the pricing on the internet that is posted which is below the blue book retail by 4k.

He didn't screw me other then the fucking gap he snuck in at the last minute but whatever. He's right.. if I total it I don't want to have to roll over more loan money again. He tried his best to sell me lojack too but I said no.

This car is awesome. It might not be a Toyota or have as good resale value but I love it and will drive it proudly for several years. It is FULLY LOADED unlike any of the Toyota's I've had in the past and that does make a difference. It will even keep my ass toasty on the heated black leather seats =) I did drive the 2002 Infiniti G20 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl )too but since it was a couple years older and had more mileage and the interior wasn't as nice so I decided on the high end Hyundai. Plus I like the power I got in the Hyundai and when I drove it the ride was so smooth. The Hyundai also only had 38k and still 54k to go on the original bumper to bumper warrenty.

PICTURES:

I never knew Hyundai was making such sweet cars. I would never have even thought to buy one. I was such a name snob in the past.

The good stuff........
Air Conditioning
Am/Fm Stereo Radio
Anti-Lock Braking System
Auto Headlamp On/Off-Delay
Auto Memory Seating
Carpeting
Cassette Player
Cd Player
Climate Control
Clock
Console
Cruise Control
Driver Side Air Bag
Dual Sport Mirrors
Front Bucket Seats
Gauge Cluster
Heated Seat
Infinity Sound System (6cd changer - in trunk though but thats ok)
Interval Wipers
Leather Upholstery
Passenger Side Air Bag
Power Brakes
Power Door Locks
Power Driver''s Seat
Power Steering
Power Sunroof
Power Windows
Premium Wheels
Radial Tires
Rear Defroster
Reclining Seats
Tachometer
Tilt Steering Wheel
Tinted Glass
Trip Odometer

So.. good deal? Bad deal? What do you guys think?

In either case this fits my budget and I am happy with the purchase and the deal I got.

Hyndai is making some great rides for the money. How many miles does it have on it?

also does it have one of those bumper to bumper warranties for 100k miles?

The interior on that thing is really nice for the price. Ford couldn't design an interior like that if their life depended on it.

Yep.. the interior is sweet, sweet, sweet. The space is great too. Dana is 6ft and is way more comfy in it then the corolla. Plenty of leg space. Trunk is a very nice size also. Like double size of corolla. Same thing on the back seats.

really? last time I saw you Jerome was giving you "what for" in the back of his Elantra.

I guess it's kind of hard to see when your being smashed face first into the back seat cushion by 300 pounds of sweaty black man.

Yep LS you made a good purchase. I'm proud of you, you stayed within a reasonable payment, got a reliable car and didn't let the dealer screw you over as bad as could have been. Hyundai has made tremendous strides the past few years as far as quality goes...and they're the most bang for your buck. You basically got Hyundai's version of the Camry...an upgrade from your Corrola:)

the only thing that hyndai needs is a 75 shot of NOS.
