First of all I hated the original release and I don't think the NGE is bad, so if you want to whine about it go away~

Whats the best class if I just want to go around and blow shit up? I don't want to play a Jedi like everyone else. Want to be able to do a fair amount of space-fighting and I don't give a fuck about tradeskills, thx~

Piloting skills are separate from your base class, so you can be anything and still do the pilot stuff.

I'd guess Commando would be the best class for you.

Ya so I finally played some last night, much much better from what I played a year ago, I actually had fun. I took Lyion's advice and made a Commando I think I'm only level 5 or something and still on the repair base. How the fuck do you tell which guns are better than the others? I have a Wookiee bow that shoots like 20-59 or something but it's SLOW and my noob rifle hits for less but bursts shots. Nowhere on the tooltip does it show why my noobie rifle should be better...

Also how do you preview items before you select them from completing missions? I completed a mission and had a choice of 3 different things that I had no clue what they did.

The problem here is they completely changed the combat system, so anything Kahar, Mar, or I tell you won't really be true with how things work now. Generally the faster guns are better, but that's a total stab in the dark.

I'd do a search on the Sony Forums. You used to be able to prevew and get the stats, easily, but if you aren't finding it, chances are it's convoluted .

Once you get to the planets things are different. The starter base is well done but the rest of the game (aside from the class changes and the different way you kill things) is still the same.

The tutorial area is pretty misleading IMO.

fyi... You're playing the game that received the worst rating/review EVER in the history of video games.

why don't you just play EQ again with the rest of the kids?

Because I already play a much better version of the fantasy MMO (WoW) and wanted to try out a space-type.

eq in its latest forms owns WoW on every level.

WoW is like Mario Party 7 while EQ is Quake IV. You can't even compare the two. I'm pretty much conviced WoW is a kids game.... Fuck Ray Charles could level to 60 in WoW.

You know EQ is 15 bucks a month. For 22/mo you can get all access and play EQ, EQ2, Planetside, SWG, and the goofy Station games, Ralf?

SWG is fun. The piloting alone is worth playing the game, and if they can ever get PVP sorted, the game will be really good.
