And the call on that pick was complete bullshit. He had undeniable control. Whether or not his knee was down with no one touching him is irrelevant. It's like they make up the rules as they go.
All I know is that Bettis damn well better offer to buy Rothlisburger a Mercedes or something, cause Ben saved Bettis' ass with that open field shoestring tackle. If not for him, that fumble recovery was a touchdown, period, and it's the Colts going on to the next round.
Now, you have to wonder, would Rothlisburger have been able to make the tackle on that guy if not for the huge gash put in his knee by his wife in the domestic dispute late last night?
Ben's pretty strong and he looked to have a pretty good wrap around the guys foot. I think he was going down regardless, plus all he really needed to do was slow him down, there were 2 more steelers right on him after he started to go down. Hell of a play though, and awarness to get turned around and catch him.
I think Tadpole just hit the nail on the head. The colt's, I mean, Manning, doesn't seem to know when a first down is more important than a touchdown. It seemed as if for the last 2 possesions of the game he was trying to force a win, rather than shorten the field for his kicker.
What is it that the Colts are lacking that doesn't make them a super bowl team? Mannings fast on his way to Dan Marino status. "Oh man he's the greatest QB in the world....with no superbowls."

I'm used to CFL kickers, where 45 yards is almost a gimme
(in cfl, a missed FG is treated like a punt. since goal posts are at the goal line, missed fg's are returned, and a fg that goes thru the end zone results in a single point. the risk is diff't from the nfl, so way way more are attempted, and you end up seeing probably 75% of those kicks made)
