FRANKFORT, Ky. - Pamela Anderson is leading a charge to remove a bust of KFC founder Colonel Harland Sanders from the state Capitol.

The actress called the Kentucky native's likeness "a monument to cruelty" to chickens in a statement issued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the animal rights group.

The statement did little to ruffle feathers in Gov. Ernie Fletcher's office.

"Colonel Sanders was one of Kentucky's most distinguished citizens, a great entrepreneur and a fine charitable man of faith, and he certainly has a place in Kentucky history. We believe he warrants appropriate recognition as such," Fletcher spokeswoman Jodi Whitaker said.

Anderson has been involved in a campaign to raise awareness of conditions in processing plants that supply poultry to the Louisville-based chicken chain.

In a letter to Fletcher, Anderson detailed alleged abuses of chickens by KFC suppliers. Among her claims, she said workers in a slaughterhouse in West Virginia have been filmed tearing the heads off live birds, spitting tobacco in their eyes, spray-painting their faces and slamming them on the ground.

KFC spokeswoman Laurie Schalow called the move to oust the colonel "just another misguided publicity stunt by PETA in their attempt to create a vegan society."

oh man thats awesome.. .I'm going to eat some KFC tomorrow. I hope the chicken I'm eating got it's face spray painted and bodyslammed.

Food always tastes better when you know the meat suffered first and then died so I could go on living.

ahhh good old PETA a paragon of virtue. I am pretty sure those breast augmentations were first tested on perdue chickens...

As for Pamela Anderson. I guess the only meat she gobbles is dick. Im sure the all protein diet is working for her.

actually it doesn't

studies have shown that meat actually tastes better when there is no adrenaline present in the system at the time of death

the first company to figure out humane ways of raising/harvesting chicken is going to make millions, because not only will their product taste better, but they will have far less negative press to deal with

I think she was very pretty once upon a time, but now her boobs are so overfilled they look like they're going to pop, they don't look soft and firm to the touch like boobs should, they look like two punching balls filled to the brim and superglued to a body

While yes, I agree that KFC has been proven to torture chickens and that's terrible, Pam Anderson representing the cause only hurts it. It would be like Paris Hilton trying speaking about how we need to donate to the starving third world children

They can physically abuse the chickens all they want as long as it comes out tender, juicy, and delicious I dont really care.

Chickens are vile animals anyway fir only for fodder for higher lifeforms.

Fuck KFC it sucks balls here last time I went their was a straw wrapper in my fucking mashed potatoes. Another time I went to a different one while I was in a town like 30 mins from here and they served me some of the natiest fucking popcorn chicken I have ever tasted & served my the BBQ wings cold. I swear all kfc's here are fucking ran by dirty rednecks.

P.S. I agree pamela anderson is a stupid bitch but I prefer carmen electra over pamela anderson's crabs any day.
