LDON's were FUN. YOu get a group of 6 and start a mission, you get collects, or slaughters, or rescues, and decent drops inside and good exp and cash, and you get these stones to put in your armor to make them better. I miss LDoN's. Relien was a pulling machine.

there have been a bunch of expansions since pop, here is a quick run down off the top of my head
LDON
this zone pretty much consisted of very little new content, all they did was add wayfarer camps in a few of the old zones and allowed groups of 3-6 to do missions in instanced content. To start it, you need to visit your home town and find the npc (you should get an emote giving you the name and general location), then answer his questions and visit any of the camps and answer questions there. The LDoN camps are situated in everfrost, butcherblock, north ro, south ro, and east commonlands, and when you do the initial quest and get the aug for your charm (which gets better every 10 ldon missions you finish, 2 hp per 10, 1 resist and stat per 5 hp upgrades) you can now use the magus' at each camp to port you from camp to camp. They later added in a few other maguses to help you get around, theres also one in nedaria, in natimbi, abysmal sea and the guild hall. You can buy 20/20/20 for pretty much all slot augs, 40 hp or 40 mana for visible armor slot augs, and some spells/other aug/gear in these camps with ldon gear.
GoD
GoD was the next expansion after that. Getting around in god was a bit more of a pain in the ass, you zoned in from an ldon camp magus to nedaria, who could take you then to abysmal sea (the village for the expansion, and great tradeskill area if you know your way around) and natimbi, from natimbi you could get to the rest of the zones. The first line of progression in god, was the natimbi trials, there was 4 sewer ones, and then 2 in the mountains, all were instanced (now i think you can get by with just doing the final mountain one to zone into kod'taz but I'm not sure), there is also an alternative raid (smith rondo) that you can kill to give you all 4 of the sewer ones instead. Doing these missions gave you access to kod'taz/yxxta, kod'taz is a zone that was pretty good xp at the time, good place to farm god spells (were no drop at the time but not researchable), and some other misc loot (50/50/50 aug from a named). Kod'taz is the zone where a lot of the god progression is done, theres 3 single group trials, and a whole series of quests to unlock the raids. Kod'taz has 4 raids, the last one you need to have completed the other 3 raids and all the progression to gain access to. Yxtta has a couple easy raid named, primals and mindrider, and is also the zone in for uqua (flagging raid). Once completed, the final kod'taz raid (antichamber of destruction) and the yxtta instanced raid (uqua) gain you access to qvic. Qvic is has 3 named goats that spawn every 8 hours (I think 8?) and drop 90 hp or 90 mana or 200ish hp armor with effects (costs 10k to make each piece), along with a few other named and a 60/60/60 aug thats a random drop off trash. From qvic you can hit inktu'ta, the funnest raid imo they've made so far, it was the beginning of a bit chance in the way encounters were made. Finishing inktu'ta/uqua/antichamber gives you access to txevu. Beat txevu (not instanced) and get access to tacvi (instanced), I know your goal isn't to raid so i'll cut this part short. There is also a huge quest as a part of GoD, called breakdown in communication, where you need to visit just about each of the zones, and collect a ton of shit, it's a lot of work and to finish the final piece you need something off the final bosses of all the last few zones. (qvic, inktu'ta, txevu, tacvi) but it makes an aug that goes into any slot and is real nice. Mobs also drop tongues randomly, this is for another quest started in abysmal sea, for a neck/belt which you need a drop from tunat'muram to finish (tacvi boss). There are a lot of epic drops in god, and some decent quests, but generally not all that much to offer a casual gamer, kod'taz isn't a bad zone to get some xp in for a change of pace if you finish the tasks.
OoW
OoW is the home plane of the creatures that have ransacked the previous exapansion (GoD). More of the same in terms of creature models. You can zone into here from the priest of discord in pok near the library, or by porting in from the guild hall or a friendly wizard/druid. There are a bunch of good xp zones in this exapansion and a lot of people hang out in them (or used to at least). Dranik scar, ruined city of dranik, walls of slaughter, proving grounds, riftseeker's seem to be the more popular areas in order of difficulty. The spell system here is droppable runes, from 66-68, and these can be good money makers if you don't need. PG has pretty shitty mob density in most areas but is good xp, riftseekers though is the best spot for xp in this expansion, and one of the best still. To zone in though, you need to be at least level 69, good xp and good drops (augs for earrings, rings, mask, belt, face and some armor pieces). Proving grounds also has single group trials you can do, for each win you get an aa listed and it raises your resist cap along with some real nice drops in the trials for casual players. (clicky mana regen belt) End zone here raidwise is anguish, which you reach by beating all of the raid trials in proving grounds, and finishing all the signet tasks.
Dragons of Norrath
LDoN strikes back. This is a return to the single group missions, where you earn crystals to buy equipment. It's all done in lavastorm, you get the mission there, then run through to your instance. The gear is better in every way compared to ldon and this is where you should be spending your time really. The nest is pretty much the best xp in the game, and you can get a good amount of crystals doing it. People used to, and probably still do, a lot of creator missions, it was the easiest way to accumulate a lot of gems, nest is better gems/xp but more difficult. There is also a choice of 2 camps, good and evil, doing good tasks will gain you a gem to turn in for good faction, and evil for evil. You can still buy in either camp, but you have to either kill or train the guards to get there, if you do missions of the opposite faction (good for when you want 2 of a lore item, each camp has an equivalent item in the other with a different name). Getting faction unlocks access to other missions and you can gain aas (stat cap increases, hp/mana increases, etc). To get most of these you need a mini raid together (the first mini raid gives you your high end don spell). There wasn't much in the way of high end raiding, couple dragons (yar'lir, vishimitar) who drop items needed to finish off the progression aas.
DoDH
The most recent expansion, theres a ton of single group content that is pretty challenging. You zone from nektulos into corathus creep to get into this expansion. You can get some very nice gear as well from doing these, and there is a quest which makes you do a bunch of these missions in return for a mask that has avery good resist clicky and gets better as you wear it. This expansion put in intelligent items, that level as you do, but they cost you some xp. DoDH also put in monster missions, and shrouds, which let you play as different classes/levels. Monster missions seems to be the most popular hang out for low level players in order to get a lot of xp quickly. I don't know much about monster missions but i think most people do them from highkeep or nektulos.

http://plurpage.com/everquest/don.php <--- complete DoN list
Crystals are called Radiant and Ebon Crystals, merchants are in lavastorm mountains in the caves.
Crystals go for about 100pp each and all the good items take like 200+ crystals so that method gets expensive fast.

Yeah, but I had no idea what I was doing, really. We did a few missions, and it's not like I ninja logged. I tried to get another group, but you went and quit EQ!
Lyion once told me he was going to BK to grab a quick burger than came back 3 months later...
Long story there, but you have a memory like an elephant!
Snero, thanks for the tips! It's a bit overwhelming trying to figure out EQ again, since it's so vastly different than 2001. I tried to play a few times halfheartedly, but now I'm interested in actually playing a lot for fun and want a clue.
I was missing many expansions and since I nabbed Titanium I'm keen to explore and do some playing, especially since there's nothing on the Horizon that at all interests me outside of All Access.

Money wise you're best off buying radiant crystals (the good camp) just because more people do those DoNs --- and Ebon crystals (evil camp) tend to be used mostly to buy duplicate items and are thus more expensive.
To get to good camp, basically just hug left from inzone until you hit a cave that leads to a camp. (first cave along left wall leads to Sol A - 2nd is the good camp I think).
There is an NPC there clearly marked as DoN Vendor under his name. His name is 'something the serene' if I remember right.
To buy them at the bazaar, just type in 'radiant' or 'ebon' and they should show up. But you'll be paying 10kpp+ just for one lowest level item.

So does this mean you can buy Titanium and use the account key on a pre-existing account to give it the expansions you're missing?

I'd do them, but my skills are bad enough already.

Where are those? Can you explain the monster missions? Plus, I really want to do the Nagafen mission.
