yes Tik, why do people come to this forum if they don't know what's going on in the world. Sorry, say a prayer for Jill, she would say one for you. You may be cynical that doesn't prevent you from prayer...just do it, you don't have to belive in it...I used to be skeptical myself...just do it, pray for Jill, and mean it. See what happens. It can't be any worse than if you didn't...

You know it's funny Tug, alot of them do, alot of em die or get mamed. Not many of em know what the fuck they're doin there. Funny thing, this little girl, Jill Carroll, was there for four years, thrice the normal deployment of a US serviceman or woman...funny thing is she shunned the guards, she wanderd into the population...to get the real story, for you. I have great respect for the USMC, but they have a very different mission.

Sure, easy to say that she was foolhardy, maybe she was...Would you be so brave? I wouldn't. Would your average Marine? Ranger? Delta? She's a little girl from Kansas, writes per diem for the CSM...she's got more balls than you could ever imagine. I don't care what company you were in I don't care how many troops you led...

Pray for Jill man, it doesn't hurt...trust me.

im not a person of faith, so saying a prayer in my opinion would be a bit of a mockery to those that are.

however, i dont feel sorry for the chick in the slightest. she chose to be there, which is exactly why i could care less. iraq just won the prestigious award of "dont go there if youre western, especially american or american press cause chances are you will get wtf kidnapped and beheaded on a shitty camcorder for al-jazeera's and ogrish.com's benefit". you do all the praying you like, maybe allah will take note and strike his faithful dead for making a statement with an infidel.

i would also like to mention that terrorists done fucked up, if for some strange reason my day to day work ended up droppin me off in fallujah heights... i wouldnt go alone, and i would be packing the most heat physically possible.

Understood. I respect you choice but it was you who mocked my prayers and empathy. Even as one who feel nothing for the circumstance, certainly you can understand my objection.

It's interesting, tomorrow we may learn that Jill is dead. For what, I dunno. We'll get over it. Six months from now 8 bombs will kill 300 people in the NY subways...No life is more important than the next eh?

When they flew fully loaded passenger aircraft into the world trade centers did you care about that Tug? I mean hell, we deserverd it ight?

Do I care what happens to some 'journalist' that shuns escorts so she could 'get the real story'? Nope. She made her bed..she's now lying in it.

To compare her to our troops is lame. She wasn't fighting for anything except her name in a paper or picture on a TV screen. Considering how badly the military is portrayed by reporters in Iraq you insult our military when you compare the sacrifice the military makes to some stupid reporter.

You say brave, I say incredibly dumb. Even military personnel don't wander the street by themselves and that's because they understand personal safety precautions. I bet she's the type of moron that walks down a dark alley in a big city at night and can't figure out why they were mugged and raped.
