DoD Spell Mission Progressions

Post by Tsupa »

I did 69.1 (hard) last night, and was overly impressed by the loot from this thing. I'm wanting to schedule a group for friday, saturday or sunday to do some of the other DoD spell missions for the nice loot :) If you are interested let me know.

I already have the puller/dps spot filled with myself.

70 Monk ~ Gammuh

Probably need a tank, cleric, and slower for most of these. Although, I saw one that was a monster mission, so you can probably use anything for those. If you are interested in scheduling a group for this weekend, let me know.

You got a cleric + Slower in me. If it's a default MM I'll one or two box, whatever.

FYI for the normals your tank has to have at least 10k unbuffed HP and probably around 2200-2400 ac.

For the hards bump that up.

Can you do a mission, like 69.3, without first doing 69.1 and 69.2? or do you have to do them in order?

I agree that "some" of the missions require a 10k unbuffed tank, but only a few of them do. So far I have done 4 of them at 8k unbuffed and solo'd one of them in 20minutes(which anyone can do this one for 200hp range(melee) or 200hp 3mana regen earring(caster)

Though in the ones ive done the mobs only hit for 2k and under not the 4k or whatever the hard hard ones do :P

If you guys want to do missions 68.1 or 68.2, I can probably tank/slow them decently with some good healage. One of the 69 missions has snarable mobs that don't summon, so it can be kited (reward is 3 mana regen aug for casters).

Realistically speaking, any other spell missions, we probably won't be able to do with an NT-group unless there are any Time/GoD+ equipped people besides myself who would want to do them. The stuff just hits too hard to make it feasible.

Can you do a mission, like 69.3, without first doing 69.1 and 69.2? or do you have to do them in order?

You can do any mission in any order, but here's the catch - somebody has to have done them in order so they can get the mission. Although you get a flag for it, unfortunately unless YOU personally start a mission, it does not count towards you being able to personally start the next mission in the progression. So basically, you need to have a designated person to start every single mission for you, or luck out and have a group where someone else has managed to start every mission up to the level of progression you want to do. I've had multiple times where everyone in a group had done all the previous missions but no one had started them personally so we ended up disbanding. Absolutely stupid, they deserve a smack for not fixing this yet.

Which mission was this soloable one that gives the 200 hp item?

What are Spell Missions by the way? This is strictly a DoD thing?

Just for clarification... All Monster Missions were part of DoDH along with Stoneroot and the surrounding zones?

They are basically a set of 5 missions into DoD instances - these 5 missions get you a 68/69/70 spell or disc respectively. Finishing each individual task will also get you a 160-220HPish item when you finish, depending on the mission.

Yamori ~ sounds good. Let's schedule a time to meet this weekend and do 68.1 and 68.2 (time permitting)

I'm assuming you are 2 boxing? Lyion is 2 boxing a beastlord and cleric i believe. So that gives us 5 players with all of the core classes covered. We'd just need a 6th DPS or backup healer.

A late time on Friday or Saturday would be best for me. But I'll work around what is best for you guys.

With a combination of spell missions, monster missions, and DoN, i think we could get all of our chars geared up fairly well.

EQ really is crack. I had no desire to play EQ1, til I started perusing that monster mission loot. I NEED IT. Think its time for Titanium.

I've soloed "Sabotage" 4 times now and have gotten some nice gear for my buds.

Invis and FD are pretty much a must unless you have some crazy insane HP and never get stunned.

hey can you do the spell missions over and over and over until you get all your runes all the way up to level 70?

If you say have four spells at level 68 and you get 4 runes do you risk getting duplicates?

When you have all your spells for one level can you get extra runes and turn them in for additional spells and jew the hell out of the rest of the people in the bazaar with crazy high prices?

DoDH (Depths of Darkhollow) spells are separate from OoW (Omens of War) spells. But you can get both from this expansion. There are only 3 DoDH spells / discs, but they are all worth doing multiple times.

You can only get DoDH spells from mission arcs. Mission arcs are started from npc's in either Corathus Creep, Undershore, or Stoneroot. OoW spells CAN drop from mobs outside of instances, in the form of "Shadowspine Runes". You can turn these in to Brother??, at the camp in Undershore. If you're after OoW spells, camp the orcs on the east wall in Stoneroot. Named in Illsalin can drop your 69-70's.

"Arcs" are from 4-5 missions each. You do get gear rewards at the end of each of these, as well as a random chest award for the group. Repeating the mission just gets you the same personal reward, but the chest reward may change. These rewards are very nice, for the casual player I highly reccomend at least attempting these. The missions are not terribly hard, but you do need to work well as a group.

There are "hard", and "normal" settings for each mission. Different "personal" rewards for each. Do them all! Once you have completed a mission, you will not get a different personal reward. It is set for chain / plate / silk etc. The chest loot may change however. Once you have completed the arc, you will get your spell / disc.

Jarzarrad the Prophet - 70 - Undershore
Brovil Palivineg - 69 - Corathus Creep
Kelliad - 68 - Stoneroot
