Well what the fuck is the goverment supposed to do? Why don't you come up with some solutions, for us there smart guy. Hell Giving free education schould be a sure fire way to help with poverty. Education eaquals people getting work, companies try to build in areas were the work force will be worth while, and someplace were their employee's will be safe.

Lets say you own a company lets say it's a software design company. And you need to build / rent a new facility to house your growning buisness needs. You need to hire people, are you going to hire people with no training no education? No, are you going to build this place or rent this place in an area surrounded by crime. Probally not. Guess what your not building or renting something in the ghetto's then are you.

Another thing they have affimative action, you and a black guy are up for the same job. You're 3x's as qualified for the position that he is. But that company only has 2 black employee's on the payroll, quota says they have to have 3. Guess who's getting the job. That's fair isn't it. Hey all he had to do to get that job was get an education, guess what the goverment paid for that education and he doesn't have to pay them back for it. He's got a job and can now take care of his family, he can become a productive member of society, good I'm happy for him. That's how you end poverty. They can get out of their hole if they want to. It's not anyones responsability to do it for them they have to want to do it themselves.

I went to a broke ass school with one apple computer (the green monochrome shit) that was only used for oregon trail as a reward for scoring high on a test and no televisions. Just a chalkboard and a desk. Over 75% of us in the graduating class went on to get degrees. (Granted that's only 25 of us getting a degree but you get the point.)

We had this old ass mimiograph machine that was hand cranked to make copies of tests/etc and you werent allowed to write on them because they had to be used the next year. (some kind of purple ink etc)

All it takes is a writing instrument, a place to write and a place to teach, be it a classroom, a hut, a church, or a fucking tree stump, AND an ounce of determination/ambition to succeed in this country.

Anyone who feels otherwise is just looking for a handout.

Please do not allow the lazy miscreants out there to have such an easy cop-out. The opportunities are there if you seek them and not fall into the easier route of "poor me, I'm fucked, I need a handout because it's all someone elses fault that I didn't try hard enough."

No where in that statement does it say Life liberty and the pursuit of a Food stamp. The Declaration of Independence states that all men are created equal it does not mean that they are equal at the end of life. Bullshit....every single adult that was evacuated because Katrina could have had a job if they wanted. The helpful feelings from the rest of the country was thru the roof. I grew up in an environment dominated by black people - being as I had a lot of black friends, I hated racism with a passion.. as I got older, know what happened to those black friends? Gasp, they started hating other black people - do you know WHY the hatred ensued? Because in high school, black girls would spit on white girls, hit, pinch, pull hair, talk down to.. anything to be hateful, because we were white - who's racist now? I never did a damn thing to any of the black people in my school because as I said, a good half of my friends were black. I have no qualms about befriending people of any race whatsoever - but I do have issues with some slut spitting on me because I'm white, and because I didn't have the money to wear the same bootylicious fat busting out the sides nasty ass DKNY's she was.

When your black friends hate the black people they know, don't you think there might be a little more to the story than you know? I hated where I lived, I was absolutely miserable - crime rates were terrible, I can't tell you how many times my stereo got jacked out of my car - I also can't tell you how many times my grandmother got the shit beat out of her by a black man working as a damn seamstress - a poor 60+ year old seamstress, and got the shit beat out of her for her 2 bucks to go to 7-11 and snag a snack - thems some quality people beatin up old ladies, right? Now I'm in wisconsin.. and it's interesting, we're just south of you mister neighbor canada, and any time I encounter a black person here, theyre just as friendly as can be - they're also few and far between. You really do need to go down south for a week and tell me how you feel then. Oh.. and on that point that I forgot to mention - I have to vehemently disagree with that whole logic on the basis that growing up, I was poor and in a very low income neighborhood - my mom also worked 2 jobs every day of her life and never ever took a single handout for the sole purpose of NOT wanting to be like those assholes - and now, I'm not in jail, I'm not blaming my upbringing and the government for how my life turned out, and I have a good job, my own house in a nice quiet neighborhood and pay taxes to feed those overfed mouths fat from the government's tit; sure it was hard for a while and I struggled a few years first, but it's amazing what you learn when your parents instill that whole work ethic thing in you.

Germany paid a hugh amount of money to Israel for reparation for the holocaust. Since the 1950s, Germany has paid over 70 billion dollars to Israel and other victims of the holocaust.

And government hasn't paid a huge amount of money to african americans?.. the difference is that one of the groups was satisfied (even though monetary reparations can never repair the pain that was there) and one of the groups was not and still will be asking for more 200 years from now - I understand that the past absolutely sucked, and it pains me to read about it, much less fathom the actual existance of it, but what the fuck can we do about it now? There are still victims from the holocaust era living (that I know of) so I can understand those people getting money - however, almost all of the people who could possibly call themselves a "victim" of slavery and the issues that proceeded all the way through the 50s/60s are dead now - how long can people play the victim card before they shut the fuck up and do shit for themselves?

I'm a woman - women weren't exactly treated great back in the day.. should I ask for free money too and rebel against anything that represents males?
