I tried to create my character on Highkeep but it keeps fucking putting me on a random server

ok...when creating your character make sure to select highkeep after generating a name. Thats the only thing I can think of

Hmmm my main character was on the path to being a conjurer, but damn necro pets just look far more appealing when I was browsing a summoner site. However I heard a lot about how necros were gimp in comparison to conjurers - thoughts anyone?

i play both
I prefer the conjuror class mainly since I played a mage in eq1.

however Conjurors are better for 1 on one combat and necros are better for group solo.. boith are good classes however.

they just did.. you can move your character now till Monday or tuesday I beleive.

I think I might try EQ2 again. Yall say that they've fixed the combat system, and that's the part I hated and quit over, so I might try again.
I think I am still guilded with yall, unless you or the game removed me for being inactive.

Yeah, hell I believe you can even send them mail now. No grouping restrictions at all or anything like that.

If you want to get into raiding go with the conjuror. They have awesome mitigation buffs, and hardcore cunjurors can be hard to come by. Necro's are great, but conjuror owns a necro any day.

thank god. The whole faction thing in WoW pissed me off to no end. Half the people I want to hang out with I can't because Blizzard is a bunch of r'ping faghats.

So how are buccaneers? I can't see myself playing any other class.

You mean brigands? They are rare and powerful. I guess people think being an assassin is cooler. Brigands are sweet, really high dps, group stealth, stuns and interrupts out the ass, and an ability called Amazing Reflexes that allows them to avoid AEs in raids. So while everyone else is movinig out of range and jousting, the brigands can sit there and still do damage. And a huge debuff called Dispatch.

I think AR is getting nerfed slightly in KoS dont quote me on that though.

And they are getting fucking hamburglar hats. How cool is that. Like the rivervale deputies, little black brimmed hats and black blindfolds with eyeholes. Robble Robble bitches!

I have been reading about server merges and terrible lag. Is the game already dying 5 times faster than EQ1?

Their reasoning was they've doubled the amount of zones since release and they didn't want dead zones like you have/had in EQ1.

Personally, I think they should've waited until after the expansion and PVP and newb changes were done and see how everything looks. I haven't noticed any dead zones on our server and I know just about everyone was making newbs after the changes simply cuz the the early levels are really fun now so the newb areas were packed. The racial quests were really well done IMO.

Some zones (like QH) do have bad lag at times simply because of the amount of people in and out of it. It's one of the central zones of town. They recently removed a bunch of NPCs from the zone to make it less laggy and that's helped.

Really the worst thing about EQ2 is it does have a memory leak that they can't seem to nail down. So after a night of playing you need to reboot or clear your memory cache or the next time you play you'll have an horrendous lag.

I'd say 1gig of RAM is the minimum you really can get away with to avoid most lag issues. I rarely have a problem with lag (unless I haven't rebooted in a couple days) even in QH.

Also note, that EQ2 was designed for the next generation of video cards....there currently isn't a card available that can run the game smoothly with all settings on extreme.

Not dying at all. I agree with Martrae, with all the good buzz about KoS and stuff, they may be consolidating servers too early, might have to expand again after the expansion.

Though pvp servers will open up, so those will take a few people from current servers.

AB is so packed Im considering moving off the server while its free. Made a newb on Mistmoore and read server boards, seems like a pretty cool place with a healthy population.

Theyve been taking the servers down all week a few at a time for extended downtimes to redistribute hardware and stuff. Chat lag is back to normal ie almost none. At least on AB it is.
