Good girl Darc and congrats
Your body, and your baby, will thank you for it.
Like I said before, just keep this in mind for additional incentive whenever you feel the desire to light up:

Everytime you want a cig, just remind yourself that you will have to start ALL OVER AGAIN if you give in and have one.

Yuck. I had that all through the first 3 months of this pregnancy >< On the upside, it makes quitting that much easier lol.
One word - ginger tea. I drank tons early on to get rid of the queasiness.
If you can, use fresh ginger root.
Cut it into pieces, smash it, put into a saucepan, cover with water by about an inch or two (more water if you don't like it strong), bring to just a boil, turn down the heat to a simmer, and let it go for about 20 min.
Pour it through a strainer into a cup, add sugar/brownsugar/honey/whatever you like to sweeten with, and drink it slowly. Your stomach should start to be nicer to you after about 15 min.
Um, btw, be careful with the first sip - the stuff can really pack a punch if the ginger is really strong.
You can use ginger tea bags, but they don't work as well. Fresh ginger is best.

Are you taking prenatal vitamins or regular ones?

Quit taking the prenatals and switch to 2 Flintstones or see if your doc will prescribe a different kind. The extra iron in the prenatals made me nauseous as hell, but it stopped when I quit taking them.

Darc, evey pregnancy is different.
With my first, I knew the first time I got sick. I was sick for the first three months. Every day. It was sad.
With my second, I didn't even know until I miscarried when I was about 9 weeks.
With my third, I was sick at all!! But very sensitive to things. I cried alot.

Heh--best advice is to trust someone that actually went to medical school and at the very least is responsible (even if just monetarily) for you in the event of an error. If they say prenatal vitamins, take them. With all due respect to the nurses on this board, and taking the declining faith in doctors into consideration, it is still the best policy. (Not to mention a good way to avoid serious legal problems for the advice givers if a lawyer is creative enough.)
My wife had to take an iron supplement as well for her deficiency while she was pregnant. She was sick for 3 months with our daughter. Not because of vitamins, though..a blood test detected the iron deficiency, hence the supplement.
I, on the other hand, ate McDonalds french fries, oatmeal raisin cookies, and homeade eggs to create the most wonderful farts I could possibly bestow upon my coworkers...but that's a different story...

I havent gotten in to see a doctor yet. They told me to wait. I think they kinda wanna see if I will need them, if ya know what I mean.
Totally unrelated, my daughter had learned to share with me, so she will give me "handfuls" of nothing and make me close my hand. She cant walk or talk, but damn it, she can share!

Ok, if you have a deficiency then forget what I said. My iron levels are always high so I didn't need the boost from the prenatals and they made me sick.
