The Oscar Gift Bag

Postby Ouchyfish » Fri Mar 03, 2006 7:19 am

What's In The Oscar Gift Bag This Year?

On the night of the awards, the Oscar won't be the only gold handed out to celebrities. This year's presenters, including the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Will Smith, will also receive the very best gift bags in the history of the award shows.

The gift bags that will be coming the way of host Jon Stewart and other presenters at Sunday's Academy Awards will contain gifts valued at more than a whopping $100,000 each.

The contents include $25,000 five-star holiday packages, passes for unlimited day of service at spa's, cashmere pajamas, a $600 espresso machine, leather case filled with the best cosmetics, year's worth of broadband phone service and more.

The holiday packages include everything from hotel stays in New York to wine country in California.

And of course, you can't make the huge gift bags too difficult to take home. At the Screen Actors Guild awards, for example, the gifts were handed out in a suitcase with wheels to make it easy on the celebrities.

Product endorsement. When shallow people see celebrities using a product, they will often go buy it themselves.

But the thing is the public never see these celebs with them, it would be one thing if they were doing a comerical. But it's a gift bag they walk away with, witch very few people if anyone really ever see's.

Well, we're talking about the US here - where more people are worried about whether Jo Lo is gets married than they are with what's going on in the White House.

Publicity is extremely important for those products. True we never see them, but obviously someone just posted what's in them this year. The celebs also bring them up in interviews and such too. Hence why bedhead products are so popular now thanks to Jessica Simpson.

lol bedhead is popular now? I used that Freshman year. That stuff smelled bad.

Have you seen women walking down the street with the pink razrs? They were given to celebrities and high(er) profile people so that they could make them available to the public later and people would flock to get one.

Every year the bags are announced, whether through websites or through interviews. And people run to get celebrity quality stuff :dunno:
