Yeah Im not really being too harsh. Im a pretty strong state's rights dude also. Im kinda both. I dont mind, and even want, the federal government to have authority and power on some things. Environmental standards, consumer protection, civil rights protections, and national defense of course. Id rather they completely butt out of others. I like our government, I just think it needs serious refinement. There will probably be a thousand more nations over 10 thousand more years before someone comes up with something that works 100%.

Yeah, it's perfectly ok for the liberals to turn San Fransico into Fagville and the whole state of Mass and Cali into social republics, but let someone try to turn a town into a haven for people who want to believe and function according their beliefs and the hypocrits go ape shit.

I'd be more concerned with, what happens when a thriving corporation headquarters or some other business with a huge supply of high paying jobs locates there or grows from there. What happens when people want to live there, to work at this place, and they don't fit the cookie cutter personality the town council thinks they should fit to be a citizen of their little sanctuary.

Sound like an ok idea still?

That won't happen. I live in a very similar environment and you know what happens when they try? The council runs them off with fear talk of this becoming a "big city with big city problems".

This is on private property so wouldn't he be able to run it anyway he choose to? The pizza king could alway declare the town a religious retreat and the government probably couldn't do anything about it.
