Compatible DVD decoders

Both of my computers keep giving me the message that I don't have a compatible DVD decoder to play my DVD's. Anyone have any suggestions?

All of my DVD's are fakes as I've been living in China and Malaysia. Before you turn this into a thread about how I shouldn't be buying pirated DVD's I should let you know that in China they pretty much don't exist, and in Malaysia they are rare if you don't live in the capitol, which I don't.
