I can't get approved anywhere to refinance my car because they keep saying I don't have enough income...because I have the house mortgage and one of my husband's credit cards on my credit report. (He is getting the house and is in the process of getting my name taken off that credit card) Oh and he can't get the house refinanced until his name is off of my car! I'm out of ideas :( And no, killing myself isn't an option.

Have a friend, parents, cyber sex partner, etc co sign for you.

Or make the refi part of the divorce decree so you have more time to complete it.

I had my sister try to cosign and it still didn't work. I don't know anyone else with decent credit/income. My dad has bad credit and my mom has good but she's a housewife ><

You don't need to refinance your vehicle. Just have it as part of the divorce decree, and it's legally binding.

WoW, sorry to hear about the split up. I know it's hard.

Check with CitiFinancial. The rates are a little higher, but they are willing to work with the income thing.

Heh yea really, I don't think I've got that option. I'll try again tomorrow and if my backup plan doesn't work, I'll try the Citifinancial thing. Thanks

Or sell the car. Since you are moving to San Diego, make sure the car will be able to pass smog check in California.

Okay, got denied again with another co-signer because my debt to income ratio is still too high with that mortgage on my report. He can't get the damn thing out of my name until I get the car out of his. My cosigner had good income but bad credit. This sucks, is there a company out there that will understand this and just do it? Also, anyone here who has alot of income, decent credit, and not so many bills interested in co-signing for me please? ><

Maybe work with your ex and do all of the refinancing through the same finance company? If they are redoing them all, then it's more likely that they will understand that "this is coming off her credit report, that is coming off his credit report" better.

Hey, yea that's a good idea. I'll run it by him, Thank you. I have a job interview tomorrow for part time. I'm sure I can get it np so I can add that additional income, and tomorrow I will go to the Saturn dealership and see if they can help me out with ideas as to maybe trading it in and getting a smaller car/payment in my own name. I know once you drive a brand new car off the lot it loses value right? I'm hoping I can at least break even or close to it =/

Jennay,

If it is in your divorce decree that he is to refinance the house, and you are to refinance the car, then show that to the car people, and ask them if they see a commitment letter from the people he is going to refi the house through showing the condition that the car be refied into your name only, or something to that affect if they will make an exception. Make sure to ask them to have a manager look at it and approve the exception.

Send me a PM if you have any questions about what I just said. And good luck to you.
