Raiders look to Brooks

Post by Lyion »

http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/9329312/rss

The Oakland Raiders found their replacement for Kerry Collins, agreeing to terms Wednesday with former New Orleans quarterback Aaron Brooks on a two-year contract worth more than $8 million.

Nothing to fear from the Raiders this year as they downgrade yet another position.

If he throws fly balls to Moss even if he's double covered he'll be worth every penny.

Being a Chiefs fan, of course....I hope he doesn't.

Collins was too much of a check down guy, Jordan caught way too many passes last year. Understandably, Moss was "injured" alot of the year, but damn man just put it up there.

Its like playing madden 2006....if you drop back and heave 3 deep balls to Moss, surely he'll catch at least one for 50 yards and you get 3 more tries!!

Moss has lost a step and while still dangerous, isn't the threat he used to be.

Brooks has a propensity to throw to the guys in the other uniforms. Given the coaching in San Diego, Denver, and KC, I expect him to set a personal record next year in INTs.

I expect the Raiders to draft one of the Big 3 QBs in this draft, probably Vince Young, given their draft position. This'd let them sit him for a year or so and groom him to be the top guy, then next year they can put him in as a starter, and brooks can be an acceptible backup.

I don't mind Brooks, but he is a journeyman QB, and a downgrade from Collins.

Brooks has some amazing tools, one of those being an accurate longball. Im still a big fan of his, even if his time with New Orleans was up.

Go Brooks, I have a team to actually care about in the AFC now.
You were right Tikker. We suck.

Brooks main problem is inconsistency. He still throws too many passes off his back foot and forces too many passes into coverage which cause too many turnovers.

Brooks is a joke. I agree, the raiders are probably going to draft a QB. If not VY then probably Jay Cutler. Brooks is just a temporary bandaid.
