Since all cars depreciate at an atrocious rate, considering them an investment is not wise.

If you buy a Caravan because it's 18 grand less than an Odyssey, I doubt you'll care the Odyssey will be only depreciate 62% versus the 80% your Caravan will. Even after resale, you are still spending 1/2 what you would.

Not to mention, once you rack up a certain amount of mileage, their value drops to nothing, anyways.

Majority of my friends don't even own cars, and I envy them.

Urban public transportation ftw~

Yeah Laura walks to her office, and we live directly on the SLC public transportation line, TRAX. I also was too broke to insure my car in New Orleans, and it was great. A little inconvenient for groceries, but otherwise the busses and walking were fine. Really learned to love not worrying about a car.

I spent a few years working in London, and I didn't miss my car at all.

It would be nice to live within walking distance from everything you need, including work. No car payment, no insurance payment, no oil changes, no nickle and diming nonesense...

Get the '06 Hyundai Sonata, instead. Save a lot of green and it's a comparable car.
