Yeah, I have a level 25 Custom Tank Mage, and a level 5 Thief/Assassin I've been pushing through different routes.
We need more games like this. If we could get NWN 2 with half this much depth and a decent multiplayer interface, it'd be awesome

I'm only level 12... but I'm totally hooked. I made a sneaky illusion mage assassin kind of guy. I love it. It's like nothing I've ever done in any RPG/MMO before... character wise, I mean. I'll probably go pure mage next time around and then full melee after that. It's just SO deep. The mod system seems like it'll offer an endless amount of options as well.

Slight spoiler alert:
I spent like... 5 levels getting my vampirism cured. It sucked but it was a TOTALLY enjoyable quest. I felt COMPLETELY into the world. Like, the way the sun effects were making the monitor as bright as it was... at one point I was thinking to myself, god it's bright, I need to get indoors STAT. As soon as I thought that, I stopped playing for a bit and thought... wow... what a great game... I'm actually feeling 'into' it, like a VAMPIRE... oooooooooh.... spoooooky. Very cool feeling.

I was in love with the game also. Level 6 ranger running around with my bow. By the way, the arena is the best part so far.
For a few days straight I had the level up indicator but was enjoying my time and didnt feel the need to rest. Sadly, the game does not work like morrowind does. If you don't rest before the second level up you continue to level!
So now im a level 25 ranger over night with chainmail armor and silver weapons. Every monster has scaled to my level and is carring glass/elven gear. I really don't like how merchants and monsters level up with the character. It ruins the fun of exploring the deepest of places when 200 feet out from the imperial city a cave once filled with rusty weapon beggars is now filled with glass wielding dread zombies.

I hear you on that, but i'd rather everything scaled then nothing did

Everything doesn't scale forever. A lot of area's have cap limits that one should be hitting in their 20s. I've hit several critters caps.
The bigger problem is if your primary abilities are not combat related, and you have levelled with Acrobatics, Security, and Sneak you're kinda screwed at higher levels since the people you are fighting are scaled primarily for higher combat skills.
Brilliant, immersive game. Some bugs and quirks, but its already paid for itself timewise, and I have a lot of content to mow through.

That article is worthless
The best way to improve gameplay is to first shut off grass. It's a killer.
Then edit the oblivion ini file in the my games/Oblivion directory in "my documents"
Make the following changes:
[OPENMP]
iThreads=20
iOpenMPLevel=20
iPreloadSizeLimit=1000000000
PreLoad should be based on how much RAM you have. 256..512, maxing at 1 Gig.
