No Paul, it really doesn't. And it isn't all that good. But you got ego, you'll get by.

Unpopular? Did someone say unpopular? Does anyone here care if they're popular? What would be the point, where's the challenge? It's very funny to me to see folks argue theology in this thread when those same folks refuse to practice their faith in another thread. No worries, your faith is your private matter.

You know, yes I know you do, because most of you are not retarded. That if this board were, 'Jeezuz Freekz for Liberty' or 'Gawdz Will B Dun' you might have an easier time expressing faith. Some of us don't have that problem, and we invite you that do to test us all you want. Faith is a funny thing, noone can ever talk you out of it. As insane as that might seem to you. It makes perfect sense to us, and I belive, it makes perfect sense to alot of you.

To get back on point, this whole thing has to do with shaking faith.

What the hardcore Christians are afraid of is that passages in the Bible are being scientifically proven. If EVERYTHING in the Bible was to be proven one way or another there would be nothing left to have "Faith" in. You cannot have faith in something proven, thus negating God.

Yeah, because a book written by MEN being proven or disproven sure does negate GOD...

Except, Harrison, those people don't consider it a book written by MEN. Actually, to those types calling it a book written by MEN is heresy. As far as they're concerned, it is a book written by God himself, and is thus absolutely inerrant in every way. Men's hands may have done the physical writing, but they were divinely inspired in their work, and thus produced inerrant text, free from the normal foibles of humanity.

I believe you misunderstood my point or you chose to ignore it to try and seem witty.

If the whole of the Bible is scientifically proven as fact the followers would now have no real faith to follow. Since religion and the idea of God is based on that faith that would inherently negate God. Thus ending the Universe in the blink of an eye.

Wow, Harri...that is a great way of stating it.

We cannot make decisions about God which rely on a book written by MAN which is only written to control the masses and create LAW.

Religion comes from the need for law. I just wanna walk up to the Pope and say,"Thanks man, but I think Nasa can handle it from here."

The only problem with that idea is that Christian faith encompasses a whole lot more then just faith in the Bible. Lack of need for faith in the Bible due to scientific proof would not negate the need for faith in God. Even if you somehow proved scientifically the very existance of God, this would not destroy the need for faith. Understand that faith is not only a belief, but an allegiance and trust, and no scientific proof of anything would remove the need to have allegiance and trust in God for Christians.
