Virus Removal Help Needed - Clkoptimizer by Qoologic

Postby liquidstayce » Tue Apr 11, 2006 4:25 pm

I've tried it all. Someone help me and you can have all my goat points if you can get rid of it. Ran ad-aware, Spy Bot, Spy Doctor. Spy Dr. picks it up in regular mode and tells me to run it in safe mode. Then it won't see it in safe mode to remove it even when I am logged in as admin.

I did delete all Temporary and Temporary Internet Files several times. I've removed suspicious DLL's. Edited the registry. The fucker keeps coming back and hijacking my browser. It write multiple files into my registry and I have not been able to remove it.

Other names - Also known as: Qoologic, Qoologi, Qoolaid

It will highlight words on my webpages and also causes random popups.

Going to try to see if I can use Hijack This to fix it and will keep you posted. If anyone else has dealt with this one before let me know.
If not, I guess I re-image.. =(

Go to the Spywarewarrior.com forums and post this exact message, with your hijackthis logs. You'll have 20 anti-spyware GODS walking you through the removal process, step by step... and they might find other bugs that you didn't even know existed. The admins and mods there are the programmers for Giant, Lavasoft and Spysoft... they are basically the best in the business and they are tireless in their efforts to help people like you out.

Seriously... go do a search on the forums for Clkoptimizer and see for yourself... there were 5 threads already (and this is a new strain) where mods and other gurus gave step by step removal instructions, and these weren't "generic" instructions - they are written on a case by case basis... which is awesome. Very very cool community. I'm *pretty* sure that they wrote hijackthis.

Wow, I would definetly post your log on those forums. That log is so huge and cluttered its amazing. When I run hijack this I have about 3 things that come up, if you post there they can give you some tips in minimizing all the other shit you have in there.
