Hmm thanks guys. Think Im going to try to use poison apples. I havent gotten one to work yet though. Caelia goes upstairs and drinks and eats for like 4 hours in that inn.

Also, the guard at the Drunken Dragon Inn is a son of a bitch. He must be a fuckin cyborg, because he doesnt sleep. So lame. For a game that is supposed to be consistent and strives to be realistic, that really pisses me off. My biggest complaint so far is that stupid guard. He never leaves the room.

 good move. Oblivion is extremely addictive. I have to agree with Ralph... this is the most fun game I've ever played.

I was going to play EQ this weekend but I can't pull myself away from the kickassocity that is this game.

Anyone know where the fence Ongar is? I know he's in Bruma somewhere.

Well I already started over... I found myself wanting to assassinate everything in site so I made a dark elf/vampire/thief guy. More on the sneak and stab less on the armor and big weapons.

So far so good. I think I'll be sticking with this guy.

One thing I have noticed already is that my guess is that life is easier for casters... On the rare occasion I bust out the spells I just mow my oppenents down versus melee.

When I do manage to get my sneak on I can hurt them pretty decently if I get that opening critical in.

I'm actually going to do all the thief quests and then when maxed maybe go do the brotherhood before working on the main quest line. I haven't decided. Whether I finish all the thief stuff up is up in the air. I will definitely do all of the brotherhood quests. Assassinating innocent people really gets me excited in video games ; )

Question... I hear everything scales with you as you progress?? Does this mean I can't go back to the imperal city later on and just mow down all the smarmy mouthed guards and shopkeepers? I rather enjoyed that in Morrowind.

if you level up from sneaking, picking pockets, and picking flowers, then the guards will probably be real hard

but as long as your weapon/armor skill hasn't been ignored you should be fine

Yes, everything scales up as you go along Ralph. If you want to mow people down there's a Dagon 5 (death touch) spell you can get. It's pretty funny actually. I wiped out legions of guards with it... sometimes a dozen at a time.

oh I will absolutely have to find that spell.

I can't count how many times already a shopkeeper has given me lip and I had to quicksave just to bust her in the chops a few times and reload the game.

...? :mystery: Never heard of this one... Don't think their is a death touch spell. The strongest one I have made is 100 dmg with a 7 second duration = 700dmg.

Im an idiot. The Drunken Dragon guy with the guard is the easiest one to kill. Just provoke him into attacking you, and the city guard in there will help you kill him.

Confiscating stolen goods pissed me off last night. I had a 40 gold bounty to pay, and they took my Black Hand hood and Robe I got from that khajit's house. Lame lame lame. Back to the shrouded armor :(

Im seriously considering sneaking into the guard barracks and stealing it back. When they condifscate stuff is it still in game somewhere?

If you don't like some aspect of the game look for a mod online somewhere and chances are it's already been made. You can slow down the leveling speed, remove the high end weapons and armor from common enemies, speed up arrows, speed up spells, enhance 2handed weapon damage, etc etc. The ideas are limitless.

I run with about 10 or 12 mods at the moment. Check out this website if you are interested:

http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/V ... nMods.List

Yeah, you have to sign up and make an account but it doesn't cost you anything other than the 2 minutes it takes.

There is. I have it. It's a 'death touch' type spell, but it's called Dagon Area Attack 5. Here are the stats: 100 pts. damage on touch; Effect 60 pts. damage in 10 ft. on touch; Effect 30 pts. damage in 20 ft on touch. You can wipe out almost any mob in the game with just 2-3 touches. I don't remember where/how I got it, but it owns.

Word of caution..if you become a vampire, do not get rid of your curse till after you finish the mage guild line if you are going thru it. for some damn reason it bugs the shit out of the count in Skingard.

The game is fun but I am still running into quite a few bugs inside the game that are making me have to go back to previous saves.

I didn't see that bug at all. I had my cure before I even had all my reccomendations. You probably had a VERY specific combination that screwed him up.

I just finished the main quest last night. Guess I'll try joining the Mages guild and doing all those quests.

the count's wife isn't in the main castle, you'll have to go outside. if you're leaving the "throne room", it'll be on your left, look for a long passage that goes on a slight downward angle, and leads to a door. i think his argonian steward stands near it once you're at that part of the cure quest

He goes to the courtyard and this guard flips a switch in a wall... a hidden tunnel opens up that takes him to his whore of a wife.

Spoiler alert, don't read this til you are done with the vampire quest...

Since she's lying on a bed...
I leveled up while I ran down there because acrobatics got bumped from my jumping... so, I needed to sleep. So... he gives her the cure, she's all thanking him... it's a sad touching momemt because he's saying goodbye... she dies... so naturally I pickpocket her right then and there. But then, I have that little UP arrow signaling I have to sleep. The count and his butt-buddy are telling me to leave so the count can be alone to mourn. But, I need to sleep! So... I crawl in right alongside his dead wife and sleep... for 24 hours. It was GREAT. I wake up and I see this count vampire dude STARING at me, like... you did NOT just sleep in bed with my dead wife! I say 'hi' and he just repeats what he said before - leave me to mourn, blahblah. Hah!

I keep hearing the dark brotherhood questline is the best one in the game.

It's easy to join... Just murder some random person and the brotherhood will approach you the next time you go to sleep.

Some old hag sassed me in the imperial city and I went into sneak mode, came up behind her and crit'd her bitch as for 6x damage and down she went. Then I kited like 10 guards around for awhile before going to jail.
