it's kinda sad how every argument on the NT seems to degenerate into liberals vs conservatives, every if political stances had absolutely nothing to do with it.

The US was more of an isolationist country back then. Because of that great big body of water seperating us from Europe we weren't as quick to jump in the fight.

Canada lost approx 45,000 Military personal during WW2. I think that amounts to a hell of alot more than 10 mounties and some pancakes. Your attempt at being funny should be saved for other threads where humor is needed

Well, Canada had much closer ties and was previously subject to British rule.
This is why much of what Canada did was to augment the UK forces.
Anyone trying to mock Canada or the US contribution to WWII is being silly. Both countries made great sacrifices and both were important to winning the war.
The US had 16 million people fighting and lost over 400,000 troops.
Canada had 1.5 Million people serving and lost 45,000 troops. Per Capita, Canada sent more people than the US.
