Anyway, anything you can tell him will be great for him to hear. Don't tell him news that will make him feel helpless. Like someone sick or hurt. He'll only feel like he is too far away to help in the situation and possibly cause undue stress. That's about all I can think of at the moment. I just remember being in the desert and looking forward to getting all that mail. It WAS the highlight of the week.

And don't worry about him. He's a big boy and made the decision to join the Navy. If he's smart, he'll be okay.

Last statement made me smile, he will be ok, I just miss him :) Also not just my censoring things, but I'm not sure how much it really happens, but in movies you always see letters to soldiers with big black lines all over them where someone who preread their letter has crossed out things that they did not find appropriate, I just didn't want him to get a letter with black lines all over it because I wrote something that doesn't pass inspection. Then again I have no clue if that really happens lol.

Adi the'big black lines are usually Famgrams. These are only used now in the subforce.

The famgrams were setup when 'bad things' so sailors did not flip a switch while out to sea.
