You can poke fun at it, but check it out for realz~

the major difference between islam and Judeo-Christianity is that muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, the same as Mohammed

I'd argue that Christianity is a personal religion, and Islam is a societal one based on the rules and scripture for each.

this country wasn't colonized by religious freaks? last i checked every piece of money has "In God We Trust" emblazoned over it, from a penny to a twenty bill. and you have to swear on the Bible to testify in court. currency and the courts are pretty intertwined with society

Islam is in need of a reformation, just as Christianity needed one.

I daresay it is already happening, we are seeing the war for the future of Islam unfold violently before us.

American muslims dont murder their daughters and riot and such nonsense.

Symbolism and separation are two different beasts.

The Koran has impicit instructions for laws and governing, and promotes Islamic nations with Sharia Laws and has specific rules for countries. The bible does not have these.

Yes, because none of the laws you obey have anything at all to do with the 10 commandments

Yeah, and it's very sad that the Muslims have thousands upon thousands of brainwashed whackjobs.

flip through Leviticus sometime. there's plenty of offenses in there that result in stoning/killing. from adultery to sassing your parents. it's also pretty big on an eye for an eye.

Leviticus also has strict, detailed instructions on what you can and cannot eat. This thread has been Lyionized. :ugh:

I would agree that there are some whacked-out Christians, but I don't think there are as many of them as there are whacked-out Muslims. Not even close.

You can't compare the two without looking at the culture.

Most Muslim coutries are at war all the time, they grow up in a much different environment than we do.

I know sympathy is liberal garbage but I tried.

So what you're saying is that the Islamic culture is an excuse for acting like savages?

No, living in a war torn country makes you act a little nutty.

Something about the constant fear of death, I would imagine.

I seem to recall a bit of a furor back in the 80s over an art photograph, Piss Christ, which showed a plastic crucifix floating in a bucket of urine. I seem to recall the photographer being the target of a number of death threats from whackjob christians as a result.

BTW, there's a huge fringe of whackjob christians: the White Supremicists. Most of them consider themselves devout christians, and feel that wiping out blacks is God's Work. Hell, the opening line of the KKK website is: "Welcome to the Ku Klux Klan! Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America!"

I doubt I'd get much argument when I claim that the KKK are a bunch of violent, murdering whackjobs, eh? Not that much difference between kidnap + beheading and kidnap + lynching, really.
