NFL draft

Post by Phlegm »

Leinart went to Arizona with the 10th pick. Staying in school for an extra year just cost him a bunch of money. I was surprised the Jets or the Raiders didnt take him.

Yeah but honestly there was not a better fit for him in the NFL. AZ has alot of weapons, I think it was a perfect fit. Leinart would have gone to SF last year, and who is closer to being an elite team...AZ or SF?

He looked like he took it pretty well, in stride.

All I know is the Saints got #5, and our owner told our GM to get him signed and make sure there wasnt a holdout. As of noon on April 29th, 2006, all is fantastic in Saints-Land :balloons:

Yeah, Pro Bowl QB who doesn't make honeheaded throws. Two potential Pro Bowl RBs. Some flaky but talented WRs, even if Stallworth wants to leave.

We'll see how N.O. is on the other side of the ball.

Cleveland has done all the right moves this offseason, I'm curious to see how their pieces come together.

Interesting to see New England take a RB in the first round.

Yeah, but Belichik tends to pick big name uglies and primarily D in the draft.

It just seems odd to see him take a RB early.

Steelers take another Ohio player in the first round. Roethlisberger last year, Holmes this year.

A definite upgrade from Randle El.

I actually liked the pick, but they gave up an awful lot for it

well, potentially anyways

Roethlisberger was 2 years ago.

I think they could have stay at 32 and take him or Chad Jackson from Florida. Lendale White was still there at 32 also.

New England picked a running back and moved up to pick a wide receiver, Chad Jackson. It looks like Belichik is straying from his formula this year.

Saints move down in the 2nd and receive browns C Jeff Faine, 1st rounder 2 years ago.

Still in the 1st half of second round.

Mickey Loomis is a pimp. Well maybe not a pimp, but we needed a Center so Im cool with it!

it's possible
but I think I'd rather a team move and get the guy they want, as opposed to waiting, and hoping he falls to them

Why why why did the Vikings wait so long to pick a QB. Was hoping they'd get that guy from Oregon. Oh well, i think they made some good picks.

Oh and Carolina with that RB from Memphis = pwn running game. I think that pick is going to bring the most value the fastest out of any (with exception to Reggie Bush maybe) in the draft.

Steelers just picked another wide receiver in the third round, Willie Reid of Florida State. So now they picked 2 receivers and a safety.

I'm reasonably happy with the 49ers' first round picks. Davis is a stud TE, which the 49ers have lacked, really since Brent Jones. Eric Johnson's not bad, but he's missed 2 years now with injuries. We really needed to get Alex Smith some weapons, and by damn, he's got one now. (Maybe 2, if that WR they got in the 3rd round is any good.)

As for their 2nd pick, they definitely needed a 3-4 type LB now that Carter and Peterson are gone, and by all accounts, we got a pretty good one. Didn't he get more sacks this year than his teammate, the guy who was drafted 1st overall?

Davis is awesome. I became a fan of him today after hearing how he takes care of his siblings, and started crying when he was drafted. Thats a man that appreciates what he has been given.
