Book suggestions

Postby KaiineTN » Tue Jun 13, 2006 5:10 pm

I'm looking for some fresh reading material. Basically, I really enjoy reading about business, finance/investing, psychology/sociology, health/fitness/nutrition, science/technology, and life in general. I guess I'm looking for anything that can teach me something practical and useful. Any suggestions?

Some books I've read/enjoyed to give you a better idea of what I'm looking for:

- How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
- The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
- Winning by Jack Welch
- Ultraprevention by Mark Hyman/Mark Liponis
- The End of Faith by Sam Harris
- Ben Franklin's autobiography
- The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
- The Space Elevator by Bradley Edwards

Another good book that is very thin, can't remember the author but title is "paralels of the pipeline"

Good to Great by Jim Collins... Its a very interesting book surrounding a huge study on what made average companies turn into giants. It is directly applicable to daily life and a great read.

Also the Guerilla Marketing series is very good.

The Art of War - Sun-tzu
The Dao of Taijiquan - Jou Tsung Hwa

Both are really worth the time to read.

I read "On the Road" by Kerouac like 25 years ago. Man, what a freak that guy was.
