A lot of the Christians might be inclined to stop trying to save them. If Science proves, without a doubt that homosexuality is genetic, not learned, then we would possibly be left alone.

Also, Harrison is right. Homosexuality is something we dont know too much about. Scientists are doing what they do, trying to find answers to otherwise unexplained things.

This study is crap. Pure crap. The more men in the family, the more likely one is to be gay? REALLY?? It's all statistics, and bad ones at that.

It's a lose lose situation, if homosexuality is found to be environmental or a choice, then the right wing nut jobs will start spewing hate about how it's unnatural, and if it's found to be genetic then it's a disease that needs to be cured.

Also something like this is far from crap or useless, it doesn't come close to explaining the processes of how it works but it's one more step towards understanding why. The thing is, we will most likely never find a smoking gun, indicating why somebody is gay and somebody isn't, it's most likely a combination of a ton of factors.

For what it's worth, I heard this a few years ago and the scientists who were studying this hypothesised that this trend was due to the mother building up antibodies to something on the y chromosome, or to male hormones. The more boys she had, the more this would build up (potentially) and the greater the effect. Course I don't think this was proven at all, but it's an interesting idea
