Power outages suck

Mine went out Thursday and only came back on last night. Fucking tornado-wannabe blew thru here and almost ruined everything in my freezers.

Describe what a tornado-wannabe would be like...

Tornados scare the ever living shit out of me. I have nightmares about them.

Hmmm....the kids playhouse flew across the street and hit someone's truck.

Power was out completely in town (approx 25,000 people). Trees uprooted, houses crushed, outside items strewn hundreds of feet away. The clouds were doing that neat swirly thing.

Felt like a tornado to me and I've been in one before. They called it a micro-burst here and an actual tornado or two about 10 miles east of here.

We had that shit hit here about 5-6 years ago. They called it 'straight-line' winds instead of a tornado. Basically the jet stream came down to tree level and opened a 120-mph can of whoop-ass. In my yard alone, I had 13 trees comes down. It was a friggin' mess for thousands of people.

Oh yeah, and since we aren't DETROIT, the Governor f'd us over and wouldn't declare the area a disaster. Thus, a lot of people who needed financial help to begin recovery, couldn't get it. Now I'm not a liberal but damn, these people needed help!

I digress. Please continue. K-thx.

Yeah, just went thru a ton of candles and went to bed early for a couple days. On Saturday they were expecting the power to be back on at my place at 11pm Monday so I packed up all my perishible food stuffs and went to my parents for a couple days before all my food spoiled.

You couldn't buy a generator, candles, c or d batteries (for flashlights) or long extension cords (for said generators) around here for love nor money for a couple days. I hear the open pizza places did a BOOMING business, though. :)
