I was one of the first few in Lower Guk.

I remember going to the tower, and seeing Ronald AFK and Feign Death, as his dual wielding pet auto levlled him, hehe.

Wild when you look back, and see how sickly overpowered Necs were in early EQ.

And yeah, Ronald beat everyone by a fair margin to 50. It wasn't even close.

My character Pondac was started in December after the game came out (98 or 99? can't remember) I started when there were no expansions, just the original 3 continents. And Fear and Hate were the uberest zones to be in! It's weird to see how weak the old school planes are, since my guild (steel horsemen) cleared the entire plane of fear with ease, including CT. Problem is, Pondac is still only level 58 with 12 AA's, since I had gaps where I quit playing over the years. But, I really am an old school everquest player, and will continue to pay for a long time as long as I'm having fun!

I just cancelled my accounts for the first time since I opened them. I was sad and a bit disgusted when I realized how much money I had given Sony over the last 5 years. Creation date Apr 9th, 1999. <=== Old Skool

Mambo was created in October, 1999. He hasn't seen much play lately, but I've had the urge to get back into it.

lev cloak

Post by Malluas »

i also remember when the levitation cloak was pretty rare.

Then i helped a guildie with his epic

Then when i was 60 running thru SK and people askin me lots of questions as i waited around for the pegasus. Had a few people train the undead cyclops (i think thats it) and a whole bunch of the big birds avocet i think on me.

Shit it was that long ago i don't remember tha names of the things.

i remember somehow making it from the bottom of Lguk all the way out after some fool trained out group, without knowin the way.

I had so many great memories with everyone that i knew. From the casual gaming at first to the power gaming later on. It was great.

How many of you remember Ballad?

I think I made Yamori in October 1999, but I could be wrong. I know it was pre-kunark, and there weren't that many level 50s around yet.

"How many of you remember Ballad?"

I remember he. I was killing that bard in one of the Karanas, the one that sat in that house and he came by and had me cracking up. He was RPing and making up songs about why killing bards was wrong.

hi

Post by Autu Matik »

I still remember during the bard BOTB Autumnus getting into the pairings wearing blue fine steel as a warrior and the GM thinking he as a bard in lambent. Until i think it was Tirillia (euph bard whatever) bitched about it lol.

Good times good times! I think it would have been comedy if I had gotten a chance to /disc defensive. I was going to duel Jangos! (Who would have probably whipped my ass with just his 1handers anyways) That... Tiriella f'd that up too~.

Also - winner of the Ranger BoTB wasnt mentioned, but I don't think it was Lowi, it was like Uaellaen or some shit from Remedy. I remember grouping with him in Sebilis right before the BotB, he was cool as fuck - then I think they fucked up something x-fering his char to Rallos Zek and he quit all pissed off at VI.

/mourn Tossica and crew.

Never bothered to put it up before but what the hell?

October of '99 Celeris was born but as a fucking blind human and a (to my eyes at the time) completely useless Rogue. He lived again in 2000 but isn't my oldest surviving character. Those distinctions go to Fulcrus (the Necro of '99 that was 29 for three+ years) and Valrin (the Shaman who quit in disgust over the alchemy fiasco). I've got other survivers that I play more I guess but Celeris v2 is my main for the most part.

Folks like Tossica (and the crew that took off to Maelin and then retired) made it all worthwhile.

Oh and Calgarian as well, for what that's worth. (No, I know none of them thanks.)

I played since January 2000, always on Nameless. My oldest character's a drood (Ginwen) quit for three years, and gave my account away (to Torjuk) but when I came back, he let me have it back (with way better armor than I left, still 52 though). I've mostly been playing as my monk (who started out naked, since I gave all his stuff away), Druid's kind of boring (but good for farming HGs, to get the monk clothed again). I know almost no one (not that I knew all that many before).
