HDTV owners..

how many people have HDTV's that actually support 1080i/p ?

I'm starting to shop for TV's now, and most of the TV's I see that claim to be 1080i/p capable only have a resolution of 1300/768, and not the true 1920:1080

so, what's up with that, and who has a TV that's actually 1080i (and how much did you have to spend to get that)

Costco Westinghouse 42" 1080p capable TV.

Mine does 1920x1080, as that's what I play WOW on it at.

If you're getting it solely to watch TV, or even for Xbox 360 I wouldn't fret too much about the difference. If you want to PC game on it, like me, It's definitely worth it.

I'm just looking at being the most future proof I guess

and it just irks me that you could have 3 tv's side by side, all claiming they're HDTV and one will have 1024:768, one will be 1320:768, and the third will be 1920:1080 and unless you read the fine print you won't know the diff

Pay attention to the "native resolution". Most times they will all accept 1080 signals but will down convert them to the native res. Both of my TV's can do 1080I but not 1080P natively.

yeah, was going to say, the projector is actually 1280x720

Lyion's Westinghouse LCD looks bad-ass. Native 1080p and it upconverts 720p. Add a really nice price (Under 2k) on the 42" model and it's a sweet deal.
