How to pick up women

I was going to post this in the Drama in Malaysia thread, but I decided not to veer off topic too much, and this might be more fun in a thread of its own.

Obviously people on this board have different opinions as to the roles of men and women when it comes to interpersonal relationships and what not, and I want to dig into that a bit. I came across this site a while back and started reading various things on it. I don't agree with everything in this "guide," but the man who wrote it definitely makes some valid points, and I've done my best to learn from it and adapt it to fit me.

I think it will be interesting to hear what some of you guys think about the stuff on this site, so check it out and discuss! What do you think is especially important, what is a bunch of bullshit, what has worked for you, etc., and if you're a woman, what would you say are the most vital things on that list?

NO chick is worth "playing by" a list of rules for. She's either interested, or she's not - it's just that simple.

Do not be a kiss ass. If you're interested in her, go up and talk to her - if not, move along.

I stopped reading right at the point he started to state that looks don't really matter all that much to women. It was at that point I realized this dude was either A: really a chick posing as a dude, or B: some dude who needs to pull his balls out of his ex's purse.

Seriously men... don't put with thier bullshit. Don't play their little games to gain their attention. They're not as special as they want you to think... they're really not.

You want the real secret to getting women?

1. Be yourself and do your thing.
2. Never kiss ass or suck up to them.
3. Don't be a complete ass to them, but don't go out of your way to appease them either.

Case in point... and this is personal experience talking here. A while back, a long while back when I worked in IT we had hired this redhead to assist HR. She was above average in looks and single. Of course every swinging dick in the company had to go by her desk 10 times a day and ask her if she "needed anything." They'd run get her bottled water out of the break room, run get things off the printer for her - bla bla bla. I treated her like everyone else. When she had problems with her workstation - she waited her turn. I'd go by her desk and she'd make comments about how she could use some water... I'd nod to the break room and remind her there was bottled water in the fridge. She ended up asking me out. We went out for about a month before she started her "I'm so pretty" typical American chick bullshit and I booted her. A month later she quit and moved back home (which she was already intending to do in the first place).

Look, a chick knows in the first 10 minutes of talking to you whether she's going to let you do her or not. Don't play their game. Just go out, be yourself and do your thing. If she's to immature to come talk to you if she's interested - to hell with her - she's not worth it - no matter how special she thinks she is. You see a chick you want to get with. Go up and talk to her - if she's interested do you thing, if she's not - screw her there are thousands others to pick from.

Nothing is worse than watching a grown man act like a total kiss ass because he thinks it'll get him some ass - 99.9% of the time - the closest he's every going to get to pounding her is wacking off to her in the shower.

The trick to getting laid is generally to get a girl comfortable and let her talk about herself. Then she'll feel you're special, because you can listen to the inordinate amount of shit spewing nonstop from her and will spread the wealth, literally, and let you in the vault.

Getting a piece is easy. Just wear a rubber dude. Most girls get around. Like a record.

Never has worked for me. It's like they're suddenly intimidated that they meet a man that doesn't live paycheck to paycheck around here.

I'm pretty much the worst out of anyone here when it comes to dating, and no advice works. If I go and be myself and ignore them, then I don't hear from them again and end up totally losing contact with them. If I put forth some effort, then I get stuck in the friend zone. I am apparently just too weird and nice for most to be interested in, and I've pretty much accepted it. Right now I'm waiting to put all the crap from this summer behind me so I can get back to concentrating on work and music again. It's just getting to be more and more not worth it.

I'd almost like to have a golddigger for a while just to get somewhere.

I've been on the other end of that spectrum as well: In my early 20s while I was still getting settled into my career, there were several times when I would date women who were very well off financially (they were usually a bit older), yet still enjoyed my company. I'll admit I'm still old fashioned when it comes to certain things, and would always spring for the dining bill despite a bit of protest from Ms. Warbucks. They would often "make up" for it by treating me to other things.

I dunno man... a guy who can hold sissors without running might be a huge turn on.

Think about the amount of restraint he is showing her. It shows discipline as well. If I were a chick I'd want to nail a guy who could hold sissors and resist the urge to run with them.

Talk for five minutes, ask her if she wants to meet up sometime for some dinner to talk at further length, and leave.

If you are in a situation where you cannot leave, then you are obviously looking for a woman at the wrong place or time.

I think being a dickhead isn't going to get you anywhere.

Women want to be respected, adored, appreciated, admired, and trusted. We want loyalty, honesty, compassion, and passion itself. We want someone to compromise. We want someone who will remember that being a woman can royally suck sometimes, so there should be some worshipping going on now and then. If you can't do that for your woman, then you are going to be divorced.

I dont want Gid to kiss my ass, in all honesty. I dont want pity during my period, they have shit to deal with too, like getting boners in public wearing khakis and boxers.
Some of what Garg said is true, we do want loyalty, honesty (brutal if need be), and respect. But that should go for everyone you meet.

I didnt click the link because I didnt want to read another Diekan-esque novel, but how to pick up a woman? Listen but dont kiss her ass. Talk to her, not at her.
