However, it'd require frontier style justice and an unwavering iron will in dealing with any and all mischief.
Despite the hysteria and saturation of media coverage, the area IS getting better. You don't see Jordan, Egypt, or other moderate Arab League countries getting involved at all. You don't see a threat to Israel on all sides.
If the UN resolution clears out the Hezbollah armed militia in Southern Lebanon, then we're looking at a very good foundation for stability in the region.
Then, we just need the Israeli's to send those F-16s towards the Iranian reactor in Shiraz.

I was being sarcastic really. Im just sick and tired of all the fighting that goes on over there and i dont really think theres a good sullution. I think all sides are guilty neither is willing to stop and our support of isreal is going to get us attacked again.

The United Nation Security Council adopted a resolution todaythat calls for an end to the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, and authorizes the deployment of 15,000 U.N. peacekeepers to help Lebanese troops take control of south Lebanon as Israel withdraws.

How has their recent military campaign HELPED Israel?
1) They don't have any of the captured soldiers back.
2) Hezbollah now has about a 80+% approval rate in Lebanon, where before it was about 30%, and this exists even in the Christian sections.
3) Before the violence, Abbas was about to strong-arm Hamas into agreeing to recognize Israel's right to exist. That's dead and gone.
4) Hezbollah and Hamas are nowhere near "broken" as armed groups, and indeed, both have accumulated many more converts.
5) World opinion of Israel has never been lower, nor has there ever been more sympathy for the Arabs, largely as a result of the slaughter of innocents at Qana, the bombing of clearly marked Red Cross ambulances, etc.
That's just 5 things off the top of my head. Israel's aggressive violence has *HURT* them immesurably, and helped them not at all. They haven't cowed anyone, they just GENERATED support for their enemies.
It was a spectacularly retarded decision, and it has blown up in their faces. If they had stayed calm, publicly worked the diplomacy game, while worked behind the scenes with Abbas and the anti-hezbollah factions in Lebanon to get Mossad teams in to get their hostages back, they would have come out FAR FAR better than they have.
