The stigma that fat people carry which is generally true is that they are lazy. At my largest I was fat because of 14 hours of Everquest and 2 2 liters of mountain dew a day, cigarettes and Tina's Burrito's as my staple. I wouldn't lift a finger to go out and hit the gym. To me it's boring, it's tiring, I hurt after and the results take months to really define themselves. What incentive is that to lose any weight? I think the problem with weight loss is that too many people look at the physical aspect of it and shrug it off because they won't see immediate results. People forget about how healthy it is to lose weight and how different you feel when you get in decent shape. Compared to how I used to feel back in the EQ days I feel a thousand times better. I'm not tired all the time or groggy or sleepy and I don't feel weak like I used to. The noticeable difference in my health was enough to keep me working out and eating nutritionally minded.

milk is not that great of an idea-was at the time I'm sure. every single thing I think of off the top of my head that milk goes into is really bad for you.

I know they wanted us to get the vitamins but it doesn't have to be a source, there are plenty of other foods. I never drink milk unless I am eating something with syrup and I don't give it to my child. He's really really big too, haha. almost my height, foot is my size, teeth are strong and has a great head of hair and strong bones.

Another issue is cultural: I have friends who come from large Italian and Polish families, and just walking through the door I would get plates of tortellini and pierogi handed to me. Failure to eat would often incur the wrath of seventy five year old grandmas, so I can see how some would reach behemoth proportions.

On that note, I shall now taunt the metabolically challenged with food porn:

Other animals have been known to nurse orphaned young, and it's not all that rare.

That statement is also akin to saying, "We're the only mammals that cook."

Obviously cooking your food has its benefits and simply because no other animal does it, does not vilify the action.

What is your obsession with saying something "first"?

Nursing another animals' young isn't the same thing. Babies will eat when they're hungry.

Well in general my point still stands about the relation to what certain mammals do and what they don't do.

We're on a whole different plane than other mammals. You can't compare what other mammals do, to our actions.

I can and just did. How do you think I can't? We might be on a different plane, but we are still mammals-and that was my point. My old dog had milk in her teets when my old teenage slut kitty had babies and ran off-so the dog was able to nurse the kittens. The kittens didn't drink the dog milk their entire lives and would have suckled a bitch tit if you gave it to them. As mammals, it's known that it's how we feed our young our own milk, it's what classifies us as that. My point is that we do not need cow milk. And as mammals, we're the only ones that get another mammals' milk in our daily food intake.

yah, I have been advised that it's not that great for you. You don't really get the source of vitamins that you think you are and it's high in fat, and when you're drinking 1%-are you even drinking milk at that point? the hormones that they give the cows that goes into the milk is bad for you also, which was Martrae's post.

check it out for yourself:
http://www.worldwidehealthcenter.net/articles-49.html

and don't bother with and FDA argument because:
In 1993, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) made things even worse by giving permission for Monsanto Corporation to market rBGH (recombinant bovine growth hormone), a genetically engineered hormone that is injected into dairy cows to increase their production of milk. We're talking about a substance that is finally being linked to major breast, colon and prostate problems, and one that no other country in the world will allow within its borders, though Monsanto has sought approval for Australia, New Zealand, the European Union and Canada.
