These are actual shots from Beta 3 and not "directed" shots. They are from a high-end machine, but at the rate that tech is advancing, many of us will have this caliber of machine by release.

You might try it again now. They delayed Beta 3 for quite a bit, and it is hyped to be much much better. I'd be curious what you thought about it now. They've tightened down on the Beta leaks, so I don't have any inside scoop.

Yes. And they were also taken at Medium graphics settings. These images are to show the game as I play it. Anti-aliasing is coming, as are more graphical enhancements. Better fonts are coming very soon to beta (they are already on our internal servers).
I would concentrate on the things the images show that other games cannot do and the fact that they are live from Beta 3. There are plenty of images that have been set up by artists to look 'just right' -- these, especially those with gameplay going on, are me playing the game for real.
